We stipulated on booking that some of our party were vegans, when we arrived there were very limited vegan options on the menu. We did remind them, and it was then rectified.

The hotel rooms, facilities and food were all fabulous. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite at all times. Nicky, our Ranger, went above and beyond to try and find all the animals we wanted to see which successfully included the big 5 (including black rhino) along with giraffes, zebra, impala, loads of other antelope, white rhinos, black mamba, cheetahs, wildebeest, etc, etc, etc. Her knowledge and passion for all things flora and fauna was exceptional and she was good fun to have around as well. Would highly recommend this lodge. Thank you for our stay.

Everything was thought of with care. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all first class and the variety and quality of food were superb. The room was great. The bed was huge and comfortable. Close to the best shower we have had. Game drives which were all included were great and the afternoon drives had a nice touch of a complimentary beverage of your choice. A nice touch was a little port bottle and two glasses as a night cap waiting in your room each night. All in all a great few days with very friendly staff to top it off.

My brother and I are vegan, and sometimes, it seemed the staff did not know what a vegan was. There should be no animal products in vegan items and some people are very allergic to dairy, so it seems important that people know if there is dairy, eggs or any other animal products in the dishes (vegans do not eat any animal products).

The staff were very kind. The facilities were beautiful and everything from cigars to extra coffee was always there. The food was unique and delicious and felt really carefully done.

Great stay at Shepherds Tree Lodge! Beautiful scenery, large and great rooms. Restaurant was very good, all meals included and still option to choose your own preferred meal! Game drives with Lawrence were very nice, not so many sightings but that’s not something the lodge can change :)

The waiters at the restaurant were understaffed and it took ages to order and receive the food. We felt more than one time ignored. The breakfast shouldn't charge for orange juice

The lodge is surrounded by nature.we felt spoiled with the little details like the light breakfast and the small aperitivo before the safari .the room was reset during the day and the shower under the stars is amazing .the room had a balcony directly on the park. 10 for the safari especially the ranger Njabulo. He was so motivated,expert, customer oriented. The full board was great!the presentation was nice and the food healthy and tasty.

The best staff (Grace at the gate, Tumelo at the bar, Potia at reception, Piet for the game drive). From the moment we arrived, the experience was warm and welcoming. We absolutely loved every moment. The view is stunning. Honestly the saddest part was that we couldn't stay longer. Definitely will be visiting again

From check-in we were made to feel welcome. The staff were so friendly; reception, chefs and housekeeping. So sorry we can't remember all your names, but thank you!! The restaurant meals were incredible, with lots of options. All the dietary requirements were taken into consideration and catered for. Rooms were clean, the shower under the stars was something else. The turn down service in the evening with a chocolate on the pillow was a lovely treat. The game drives (dress up warm!) with our ranger, Kelvin were informative. A ranger who has a genuine interest in all the animals, not just chasing the big 5, means we have some incredible memories.
