Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumVery friendly staff Excellent breakfast Beautiful surroundings Big, clean swimming pool Lovely hot tub 3 friendly dogs on the premises, which we adore Degree of finishing (tiling etc in room) is poor, doesn’t have premium feel Hot tub very loud during the night; perhaps someone could proactively shut them down at 10pm? Refrigerator in room very loud as well

South AfricaOur room was very small. I realise I booked the cheaper room but it was exceptionally small. Very comfortable however Service at dinner was exceptionally slow. I know it was Valentine’s Day and busy but with a set and rather expensive menu I would have expected it to be better.

South AfricaWhile the jacuzzi was a lovely touch, on a 32 degree day, it could have been adjusted to a cooler temperature. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and everytime I turned or moved, the boxed bed base made an annoying noise.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

South AfricaThe room was poorly laid out with too little storage space. Noisy heat pump for spa which I had to switch off at DB. WC too high for smaller people. Coffee machine too close to floor. No window other than folding doors. Rooms were across public road from main hotel.
Fantastic food. Pool was lovely and restaurant area charming. Staff helpful and professional.

United KingdomHaving dragged our suitcases across the road from the car park opposite the hotel, we were told that our room was away from the main hotel, so they had to be dragged back, and up to the distant secluded rooms. For security reasons, I would not have booked a room away from the main building. Once shown to our room we were shown how things worked. We then found that the coffee machine would not work. My husband had to get down on his hands and knees (after both a knee and hip replacement) to ascertain that the drip tray was full and had not been emptied in quite a while as it contained about half a litre of fluid. Eventually, we got it to work. There were no instructions in the room. No phone number to call reception. There was no phone in the room! No instruction on how to use the air conditioning. The fridge was noisy and had to be switched off in the middle of the night. Breakfast was very nice and the waiting staff was good, however, you do have to put up with the owner's many dogs staring at you when you eat your food. We were greeted by an effusive lady at reception, full of Bon Homie, but she showed no real interest in our stay. On check out, she said goodbye, and there was no inquiry about our stay. We were both very disappointed. I hope this feedback helps the hotel to improve.

South AfricaThis is definitely not a 5 star accommodation, had some issues with worms and bugs but understandably so for this time of the year, overall cleanliness of the eating hall. One of the waiters were arrogant and blamed it on a party he had the previous night, that was a embarrassment to my family though.
Property and the setting. Rita en Rozanne are very helpful and friendly hosts.

South AfricaThe management service could have been better, specifically in dealing with circumstances arising before and during our stay. The rooms are equipped with tech to drive basic functions but much of it isnt working and the basic equipment (bar fridges) are not in good working order. When booking a room with a hot tub, and being told upon arrival that your hot tub isn't working, you expect an apology, a gesture or something due to the inconvenience - not to be told that no one was changed for a hot tub, when in fact, I was and all of my group who booked and paid for a hot tub were charged!
The location is lovley, the service staff were friendly and accomodating. The pool area and views are beautiful and the facilities are readily avalaible.

South AfricaStaff were over 30 minutes late for check-in time as rooms were still being cleaned while we waited at reception. We called in before we arrived to ask if we could come through early and use restaurant and facilities however when we got there we were told the restaurant was closed until dinner. Wifi didn't work. Overall we had heard really great things and expected more.

South AfricaThe images versus the rooms were disappointing. We were offered a room with a jacuzzi over the road from the hotel, the room was surrounded by a fence of branches and the jacuzzi was right on the front doorstep, with no view of the magnificent scenery in the district. We were then moved into another room which had hardly any space to move in, with a view, Our friend was equally disappointed in his room which also had no view and was really small. The hotel staff were understanding and agreed to move us to a room with a view over their swimming pool and dam(maybe 6 rooms in total) and swapped our friend into our room. "Echo" voice system in the rooms was irritating because it controlled lights, aircon etc., but didn't respond to our voices all the time when given an instruction.
Delicious breakfast. Staff's willingness to accommodate us. Relaxing massages.

NetherlandsWe had a family room. It comes with a kind of hot tub, but lacking in scenery and privacy. The patio and entrance were enclosed by a fence constructed of sticks, obstructing views while allowing for unwelcome visibility to outsiders. The room automation system fell short of expectations, proving more hype than utility. Additionally, the room showed signs of wear and tear, betraying its age. Also they don't serve lunch or dinner everyday. Which is a little inconvenient because it's quite far from everything else.
The staff is super lovely and friendly. They have a great cook. Breakfast is nice. The rooms overlooking the pool look much nicer than the rest. The massage was wonderfull! Great coffee in the room.

South AfricaThe check in was terrible . The owner had not updated her system and did not have a room allocated for me. She tried to shove me in one of her side rooms - a cramped room with no views, no hot tub and an awful high wooden fence around the deck - ostensibly to give privacy. But it makes one feel like a dog in a kennel. NO VIEWS at all. I had booked and paid for a room like I saw on the site - with a hot tub and a view of the mountain. I asked for a refund when it was clear she wasn't going to give me what I paid for. Her reply (genuine) "If I had to give a refund to everyone who asked me that I would be bankrupt" . I then cut my losses and left - never to return. She then tried to phone me when I was 30 kms away to say "come back please, there is a guest who hasn't checked in and you can have his room"
