Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Wifi strength could be better

Wish we could have stayed longer!
Johnny and Brenda were willing to accommodate our early check-in and very kindly made us breakfast for the road the next day as my son and I needed to leave early. Karoo hospitality.

The place was really nice. if the quest upstairs are noisy then it will be problematic. but he was not and there was no noise from the roof above
The facility is very situated and off the main road, hence you can rest and there is no noise. the pool was refreshing and so did the reference to the restaurant help quite a lot. very impressed by the friendly management. Even mosquito repellent was put out.

I don't have anything to complain about but the floorboards are very squeaky given the age of the house, so I had to ask my children to stop stomping around the room!!
The Family Room slept 4 and a Cat very comfortably. We were in easy walking distance of the local restaurants. The Breakfast was more than enough and perfectly cooked.

I was able to park my bike under cover and behind a gate. Beds were firm, owner was friendly and very accommodating of my early departure the next morning. In easy walking distance of good restaurants and shops.

We loved everything. Friendly, clean and central location.
The hosts are so friendly and helpful. Shortly after we arrived we had a flat battery. They arranged for someone to assist and even took us back to the battery shop the next day. The rooms are clean, well equipped and lovely to stay in for a family with small children. Will be back.

The bedsprings makes a lot of noise when you turn and the mattress sinked in when my husband laid on it. He complained that he did not have a good night's rest
Even though there was loadshedding, the lights and appliances still worked. It was only the aircon that did not work during that time.

We couldn't have been happier with this gem of a guest house. After an 11 hour drive, Brenda's warm welcome was much appreciated and she rapidly organised a dinner reservation, parking and much else for the two frazzled travellers! The large downstairs suite was so spacious and comfortable with direct access to secure parking. I wish I'd had more time to read the interesting books and info on the area and have promised a return visit to actually settle in for a couple of days. It really deserves it. After a quiet night and a lovely breakfast with home-made jams we were all too soon back on the road. It is worth noting that if you did have a family member with mobility issues this accommodation would be perfect as it also has a bathroom properly adapted for these needs. This suite was two inter-connecting rooms, a single with kitchenette and comfortable easy-chairs and a large double with the bathroom off. I hope to be back!

The power was off all evening and night. It tripped, which was not the owner's fault, but was very inconvenient nonetheless.

The warm welcome and they make guests immediately feels part of their family. Service was excellent and the hosts have gone out of their way and beyond their call of duty to make sure we comfortable and well taken care of. Felt like home away from home. This is a must stopover place to stay whenever you visit Graaff Reinet. We drove away as friends.
