After the initial hiccup with the booking, the overall stay at this place was one of the memorable moments of our Japan trip.
The house we stayed in was nestled in the forest, surrounded by trees all around. It is far away from the town yet close enough for a quick dash if you need something.
The house itself was self sufficient with all the modern amenities.
Absolutely loved our stay there, it is highly recommend. We’ll certainly like to go there again.

Wonderful location, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Tea time and cocktail hour in the lounge were absolutely fantastic. Excellent facilities and complimentary shuttle bus to the station. The staff were very pleasant.
The only thing that would make the stay perfect would be access to tea/coffee in the lobby prior to check in. My sister and I had flown in the night before and travelled a long way, arriving exhausted around 1pm. We understood that we would not be able to access our room until 3pm but were happy to enjoy the beautiful lake view from the lobby lounge until then. There is a tea and coffee machine there, but it is not available to use until 2pm. But this is just a minor thing in an otherwise wonderful weekend!

The bed was divine, facilities clean and comfortable. The Finnish breakfast (Booking.com inexplicably adds a few syllables and claims it is a Full English) was a delightful surprise.

Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Absolutely everything. The couple who own the place are so friendly and accommodating, they made us feel very welcome. We rented a yukata each for a very reasonable price, used the massage chair and private onsen. The value for money was incredible! We also had a lovely breakfast in a beautiful Japanese room. The whole experience felt very authentic and it’s great we could do that with young children.
- friendly staff
- beautifull area around building, specially garden
- traditional japanese room with extra comfy tatami and futons
- in bathroom is asumi, perfect for relax after intense day
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice view of Mt. Fuji from 5th floor. Everything you need for Onsen usage is provided, even slippers, a bag and Yukata. Onsen in the evening was very cozy.
Beautiful ryokan experience. There was different options for Yukata and kimono rentals for the entire stay. Loved the wine bar. Booked a room with private onsen. The weather wasn’t great, but would have had a nice view if the weather was better.
There's nothing not to like. The service staff were excellent, the food was fantastic, the hotspring was good and the grounds were very nice to walk!
Personal onsen was very quaint and the access to free refreshments/drinks at the lounge was a nice bonus!
Also free yukatas for rent!
Loved the private onsen attached to our unit. There were sufficient instructions in English stuck on the walls to function the onsen and the heater in the room. It was nice to experience sleeping on the futon. Also loved the yukatas provided in the room. Breakfast was sufficient, with items being refilled constantly.
I had a nice and relaxing stay. The private onsen on the balcony was just great! I also liked the room and the size of the bed (I was travelling alone, so having the double bed for myself). It was nice to wear the yukata which could be found in the room. The staff could speak English and helped me with writing down my Japanese address. Everything was clean, and the light and the aircon/heater had remotes, which was nice.
I was a fun to get a ryokan experience, wear a yukata and sleep on a futon.
