Located in Kamakura, 200 metres from Yuigahama Beach and less than 1 km from Zaimokuza Beach, AKAMA Kamakura provides spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi.

We loved the traditional Japanese feel of accomodation whilst having an abundance of modern amenities (bathroom amenities, replacement towels and bottled water, hairdryer, curler and straightener, coffee and kettle, mini fridge). The accommodation was very clean and well maintained and our party of 4 (two adults and two teenage boys) enjoyed being the only guests. Use of the sauna was lovely of an evening during the winter and having breakfast included in the lovely modern restaurant downstairs was a great - the choice of either western or Japanese breakfast suited out teenage boys and both options were lovely. The location is close to the local electric rail station and walking distance to an abundance of cafe’s, restaurants and shops as well as the Great Buddha, Hasedera Temple, Goryo Shrine and of course the beach. We loved being immersed in the local neighbourhood whilst being so close to all of the above. The staff were all friendly and attentive would we highly recommend this accommodation.

Situated just a 3-minute walk from popular Enoshima Beach, Kakiya Ryokan is Japanese-style accommodation attached to a historic restaurant specialising in Shirasu fish meals.

Nice traditional ryokan. We had fantastic view on a pretty garden. But Loud at night as the hotel is at the main street. Shared toilet and shower. The onsen was just a big bath with hot water, but good as you can book it for your use only so no problem with tatoo and to go with your partner. Great town!

Located within 8.4 km of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and 24 km of Sankeien in Fujisawa, Kinokuniya Ryokan provides accommodation with seating area.

Better suited to Japanese travellers. My Aussie family weren’t as comfortable on the hard mats and cold drafts. Not as welcoming as other places to westerners.

The host is a japanese samurai, with a great vibe. If you value exsperiancing Kamakura with a local, Bushi san is the guy. The room was true japanese style with tatami mat and futon and the place is full of curiosities. The residence is inclusive of the local community, and I met many friendly people. It's a place with many stories.

The staff was amazing, particularly the woman in charge of the place. Amazing service. The futon was also very comfortable (placed on a tatami) and the place was very clean and relaxing.

very traditional place, with all traditional amenities expected (futon, tatami, tea set, onsen, ...) ; superb dinner and breakfast, served in the close-by restaurant (set menu), incredible quality for a little price; position is 10/10, everything interesting to visit is at walkable distance, also there is a supermarket in front

I loved a lot about this place. I had never slept on a traditional Japanese futon before so I was a bit apprehensive but found it to be very comfortable. The private onsen was amazing too and a great way to relax after running around Enoshima all day. I really loved the breakfast too, it was amazing! The area around the hotel is very peaceful and quiet; the only sounds I really heard at night were the sounds of the train going by. Overall a really lovely place to stay and one I would book again.

Coming back to Japan after some years, it was a perfect "welcome back" stay for the first night: Tatami room, futons, shared hot spring bath, japanese breakfast included, small downtown area with a few restaurants. It was just a few minutes walk from the Enoshima Dentetsu railway that runs on the Ryokan's road.

A one day trip stay-in. The hotel is located at the back street, not very far from the main street, so it is very quite during the night. There is an inside hot spring you can enjoy after you shower. The room is quite janpanese, with tatami and japanese ukata. Definitely a good place to stay if you want to experience the Japanese culture.
