The outdoor onsen bath, though small, was wonderful. The ryokan is a quick walk to the historic Kabuki theater if you take the path behind the property. The theater is definitely worth a visit. She gave us a map of places around the ryokan as well as large size loaner umbrellas (larger than our conbini type) which was great as we arrived on a very rainy day. The hotel is really beautiful, you can borrow a yukata for the length of your stay, which was really great! The dinner was delicious, a several course meal with different traditional Japanese dishes.
