We loved the private bath as well as the spacious and traditional room. Having a massage chair looking out over Lake Biwa was an added bonus. The staff were also very friendly, responsive, and kind.

Very traditional - two large tatami rooms and access to a balcony. My son said it was his favourite accomodation on our trip.

Room with tatami and dinner. Defintely have the dinner, it was probably the best meal I had in Japan during my 3 week travel.
My room did not have common walls with other rooms, so it was very quiet.

The host of the guesthouse was very kind, and the extra dinner we ordered—Wagyu sukiyaki—was incredibly delicious.
I would definitely visit again if I have the chance!
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Everything. Our room was clean and comfortable. Buffet and free bar was excellent.great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Onsen was very nice. We will return.
It took us a long time to find a ryokan online that might offer a traditional and peaceful atmosphere at reasonable rates, and our search paid off. Ryokan Beniayu is somewhat remote and is not near busy tourist attractions, but for relaxing, watching birds, enjoying the lake (fantastic sunset view from the bath and room), and tasting some delicious foods this was better than expected. And our private outdoor bath was wonderful, too! We appreciated being welcomed so warmly. A nice stop between Kanazawa and Kyoto, even in the waning winter.
The hotel has a very nice view of Lake Biwa especially for the sunset. The space of the room is not huge but it perfectly fit a family of 4 with open air hot spring bath. The public onsen is also good and quite with nice view. Ard 45-55 mins drive to Gransnow Obuibuki
