From the moment I met the first staff everyone was extremely warm and welcoming and their service is on par, if not surpasses 5-star hotels, they are incredibly warm, attentive and informative.
The room was very very clean and arranged very beautifully and the view was amazing. During dinner, the staff were very helpful in explaining what the dishes were and how to eat them as I was new to the experience.
If you like culture, food and incrediblely great service, this is the place for you. I had no complaints.
Although this area is best to visit in Autumn, even in spring there is a lot to see. I was unfortunately a bit too early to see all the sakura bloom nearby, but there was a lot nearby to explore and see still. You can easily explore the nearby city Asuka from here as well.
Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk.

The location was great as we visited Todaiji in the late afternoon and Katsugataisha in the morning so we had minimal crowds and really got to experience in a peaceful atmosphere. The food was very good.

Incredible location in a very quiet part of town. Lots of temples in the direct vicinity. We were able to participate in temple rituals in the morning, and dinner and breakfast were both delicious.

Very central and convenient location, just a few mins walk from Kintetsu-Nara station and ~10 mins walk from JR Nara station. The host was lovely and extremely friendly; we were leaving early in the morning, but she still brought somen noodles with broth, fruit, and some Nara specialty sweets. Futons were extremely comfy and helped for a restful night.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
This place is old but charming and in a good location. The people who run it are friendly but no English is spoken. The onsen is actually really big and nice.
The location is very good as it is just a few steps from the Sakurai station. The place is nice. They have a wonderful Ohuro. It makes the stay special. The staff is very good, efficient and courteous. The place is clean. They have good coin laundromats. They have good looking and comfortable Yukatas/Pyjamas for night wear.
The ryokan was very close to the JR Miwa train station. The room was spacious. The room had a small toilet attached to it. The family bathroom was big and clean.
The owner, Masahiro Uda San, maintained the internal garden tastefully. It was a pleasure to look at the garden through the viewing windows.
Masahiro Uda San gave me very useful information about the Miwa Shrine and hiking the amanobe-no-michi Trail. It was a pleasant stay.
