The ryokan's location was exceptionally convenient, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the ryokan itself is really cute. We loved that we were able to book the onsen for private use at a set time, that allowed my husband and I to use it together (please be aware that as a consequence, onsens may not be available due to private reservations, better check during check-in!) Everything is traditional Japanese; tatami everywhere and you take your shoes off right at the entrance rather than walking to your room with them. Onsen is not tattoo-friendly so I did not use, but I went to Yamagata one day to use the hot spring there instead. Breakfast was terrific, with many small plates to try lots of the food of Sendai.
