Really nice place, the environement is spectacular, with the lake and sorouding. The owners very welcoming and nice.
The room was very big and nice onsen to relax.
Definetly a place to go back and recommend to people to stay.

Because of the distant location you should take a look at the sky at midnight and watch the stars.

We loved the onsen. The staff were so kind, especially Hatsuki who looked after us so attentively, translated the delicious menu and wrote us a beautiful note on departure. Drumming performance was an added delight.

Very nice and traditional ryokan renovated 3 years ago with a lot of luxurious taste. The hallway to eat diner and breakfast is amazing dated from edo period. Rooms are modern and spacious. The chef was working in refined restaurant in Tokyo before and he is cooking an amazing food, the best I had during my trip in nagano. Staff was nice and friendly. I really recommend.

We loved the warm welcoming from the staff, so helpful and full of details. We had a nice tea upon arrival and enjoyed the onsen. The room was spacious and so typical. And the breakfast is a must!

Was surprised to see a fairly big hotel, parking in front and behind hotel...
Manager( only english speaking gentleman) came out to greet us...and everyday enquire about our day and take note of our breakfast and dinner time...
The room were big , tatami beds were good but slightly difficult to get up for older folks like us....seperate bathroom and toilet facilities good...there was a private onsen bath but had to pay for it and need to book timings...
Also the drive to Tsumago/ Magome was great...country road with great autumn foilage seen along the way...even the drive to Narai, Kamokichi was same although about 2 hrs
