Auberge AZABU 4 stars

Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto

All units in the ryokan are fitted with a kettle. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. At the ryokan, every unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. The whole experience was exceptional! From the moment we enter to the moment we left we simply loved it. Their hospitality is incredible and you really just feel welcomed. Breakfast was amazing and it was so nice to exchange some words in both French and Italian with the chef, you can clearly see that they spent some years in France and it was so beautiful to see it reflected on their dishes. I have asked for a cake for my fiancée's birthday and they kindly propose to make it (for a very reasonable fee), it was delicious and home-made! We loved the room, so cosy, traditional and modern at the same time. I never gave 10 before but this place truly deserve it! We didn't want to leave it! Merci beacoup pour tout! :)
