Surrounded by forests, meadows and the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, Grubhof Appartements enjoys a quiet location 3 km from the centre of Ellmau.

This is an absolutely fantastic place, offering a warm welcome, a cozy atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, always available via WhatsApp, yet they respect your privacy and maintain a discreet presence in the best possible way. Our room had a stunning mountain view (we could even spot the guesthouse from the cable car!) and was fully equipped for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and more. The common area outside the room is thoughtfully equipped with toys, table games, and sports accessories, making it a great space for both relaxation and entertainment. And the sauna—both dry and wet—is simply outstanding! The location is also perfect—just a short 5-10 minute drive to the main ski lift, Hartkaiserbahn. We had an amazing experience and highly recommend this place. We truly hope to return next year!

We spent a few days with our family in this beautiful apartment at the end of the ski season and were absolutely delighted. The apartment was spacious, tastefully furnished, and above all, spotlessly clean – we felt right at home. The biggest highlight was the location – the cable car was just a few steps away, making it easy to choose a new direction to ski every day. Brixen im Thale is a perfect starting point for exploring the entire SkiWelt area. A huge thank you also goes to the staff – they were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their approach was truly outstanding. We’ll definitely come back – whether in winter or maybe even in summer. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    It was an apartment so we had to fix our own breakfast and dinner but Ellmau is a pleasure also for the amount of restaurants; the service and the meals were very Austrian, but good.

    We were very impressed by the hostel. The facilities were great and very clean, as was our room. We spent time in the common area, admiring the mountains and watching the euros on the tv. The kitchen was also clean and well-equipped.

    Really clean, great location. The shared bathroom and shower were close to the room so it was ok and also spotlessly clean. The kitchen is great, you can cook there, there is a coffee machine and fridges.

    Everything was perfect. The appartment looks better than on the pictures. The kitchen is really fully equipped- pans and potts, enough glasses etc.. nothing broken or old. It was possible to get to the slope in about 30m walking across a field/meadow,that is usually covered with snow (so you could directly ski from the appt), but there was not enough snow, so you had to walka few meters. The town centre was 5min walking. Parking in front of the door.

    Great place during our winter Holliday. We met Suzi/owner personally and she explain everything. On the top of that she makes for us discount card for bus travel. Flat were very spaceious with beautiful view to the mountains. Kitchen where we cooked dinners and breakfasts. travel to Kitzbehul took approx 25 min by car. Glad to come back next time

    Lovely apartment and the host was very friendly and helpful. Big kitchen/dining area, living room and bedroom. Christl the host very kindly brought us fresh bread and croissants each morning and helped us when our lost luggage arrived. Our family enjoyed the stay very much.

    This is a wonderful house with very comfortable apartment in the mountains, couple of km s from Ellmau. Well equipped kitchen and BBQ area. You can enjoy your morning coffee from the terrace or from your living room with a perfect mountain view. By car close to Ellmau, Going, to restaurants and shops, also to the Wilder Kaiser cable cars. Perfect place for relaxation after hiking or having excursions nearby.
