The setting of the cottage overlooking the fjord was phenomenal. The hot tub was a great thing to have. The host came by to great us and brought a small treat, which was very thoughtful and they were readily available. In general the cottage was well appointed.

The owner was very sweet, helpful and accommodating. House was superb, clean, spacious, elegant, cozy, comfortable and it’s a beautiful spot to see the Northern Lights.
Perfect for families, groups, or couples who enjoy luxury and independence while traveling. Enjoy the space and privacy of these fully-furnished, free-standing mansions – travelers can cook, lounge, and explore at their own pace. Note that in Bali, a resort will also be called a villa.
Very nice small luxury hotel in the woods south of Egilsstadir with views of the lake from the outdoor hot tubs and restaurant. The two hot tubs have a very pleasant temperature. Bathrobe and slippers were offered for free. Spacious, modern and stylish ground-floor rooms with terrace, a small table and desk.
Excellent breakfast, they even prepared fresh waffles and pancakes. Dinner was also great and freshly prepared in the open kitchen.
Nice village like surroundings. All our questions were quickly answered by the host over phone and in person. She came in person to address them. Laundry though small worked just fine. Horse rides, animal petting available on site. Unfortunately, we stayed just one night.
Arni was a very friendly and helpful host. His suggestions for outings were great. We enjoyed watching the puffins at Höfn which was a village worth spending a bit of time in after a lovely drive across the mountains. We also visited the gorge he recommended on the way to Myvatn. The smoked lamb and dried fish gave us an unexpected taste of Iceland and we really enjoyed his travel stories and knowledge of the country.
Great location for a stop along the ring road. It’s very clear where these guys put their money: into comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms, which is exactly what you want at this point in your trip. A perfect stop along the way. Great breakfast spread, very kind staff.
center of village and close to main road, equipped kitchenette with a quiet environment, common areas where you can sit at table, good mattresses (soft)
