The best three nights and four day stay ever. The family that owns this great place are amazing people. You feel like you are visiting friends.
During our stay, we made washi paper, visited a knife making village and a world-class ceramic museum, and purchased local artisan pieces. All of these activities were within 20 minutes of the Hideaway Tabaki.
We went to a local sushi place that needs to be a Michelin star restaurant called O-edot. It was AMAZING.
We feel like the Kondo-san family and Sakae-san are like family.

The stay was really good. We were a little nervous initially as we are traveling internationally and our signal was spotty. However once we got there the host was more than accommodating to our hectic schedule as he took his time out to go and showed us around even though we arrived really late to our check in and later than expected. He showed us the house and even gave us some recommendations to what was around the area. He made sure we were comfortable before letting us unwind for the night. The wood burning furnace made the home very cozy for thorough the night. For the rest of our trip we were able to explore the peaceful and quaint village. His whole family was very sweet and he even delivered extra firewood for us in the evening to keep us warm. We will definitely looking forward to come back to this property and explore more.

Very clean 2 storey house. A very spacious sleeping area on the 2nd floor, feels like a dojo. Comes with amenities which makes it handy.

Yoko was extremely kind in waiting for us for the check-in as we had a long drive down. They did up the house really warmly and nicely, it felt like home. Really enjoyed watching them work at the studio too. They have super lovely glass pieces and we did a workshop with them too. Meeting them was one of the best things in our trip :)

Kizu-san went above and beyond, and was always willing to chat. Very close to the Paper village/museum in Echizen, with a supermarket and convenience store within in short walking distance (8-10 minutes) as well. This said, if you want to see more of the coastal side of Echizen/Fukui, you will need to rent a car / take a taxi.
