Very close to Hallstatt, I was there during the winter and had plenty of snow. The hosts are very kind. I chose a location that had a sauna (very good) and a fireplace. I was very grateful that our lodge had indoor plumbing….. I recommend checking that before booking. The breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our cabin was cosy and elegant and a delightful home from home during our trip. The little garden with summerhouse for dining is charming. Obertraun is a good location to visit the amazing Hallstatt and the Dachsteins from and the lakeside beach gets the evening sun so perfect for a swim at the end of the day. The views are breathtaking, the concept of the little houses is very cozy and comforting. Our studio apartment had a little terrace with garden chairs and table as well. It’s a nice place where we would easily spend 4-5 days as a couple or with family and friends as well. The UNESCO World Heritage Hallstatt is only 10 minutes away by car.
