The hosts could t have been any more helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, we slept very well. The shower was lovely and the bathroom, room and communal living areas were spotless. The proposal in a beautiful setting and its close enough to Kielder observatory to be a good location for stargazing. We were also able to do some star gazing from the grounds of the property before going to the observatory.
These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
Hosts were lovely people, who were proud of there beautiful home. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They would offer their help without even needing to ask them.
Lovely stay in Newcastle for the folk festival. Our hosts were super welcoming and friendly as well as hospitable. Would highly recommend this stay and looking forward to a future stay myself!
We went for a nice relaxing break and Black Burn Lodge exceeded expectations. The hosts are amazing, polite and nothing is too much trouble. The room was fantastic with a super comfy bed and amazing bathroom. The grounds are fantastic. Breakfast is now in the village cafe, again the welcome was great and the food lovely.
A simply stunning place to stay. Highly recommended.
It was our second stay at Black Burn Lodge and it was really wonderful. Michael and Jayne, our hosts, were very welcoming. They were also very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and gave us quite a few tips on where to go and what to see. Breakfast was so delicious, that it could easily earn a Michelin star! ;) All in all, stunning B&B, beautifully designed accommodation and peaceful location. Definitely highly recommended.
Absolutely perfect! A stunning properly in an ideal location on the river and a short stroll to Newcastleton village centre.
A warm welcome from Michael and Jayne made us feel right at home - lovely people! The property is spotless, bedroom lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding too - I recommend the Scottish smoked salmon and eggs! If you are looking for a BnB to explore the borders look no further - we will definitely be back.
