United StatesIf you have ever wondered what it is like to sleep in the bottom of a well, be a prisoner in a dungeon, or squat in someone's shed, then this place is for you! The staff was very kind. It was freezing so they gave us a bunch of musty blankets. They were cooking tortillas on an open fire and the smoke gave our room some ambiance.

CanadaIt was great to be immersed in the forest and the views up top were beautiful. I liked the rustic cabin look. For an eco-hotel I was glad they had hot water for showers.

The mountain location provided a great respite from the heat of the lower elevations. It almost felt normal to us. Who would've thought we would be having a fire, and whilst not entirely necessary, it was really comforting to enjoy the heat and ambience. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel/hostel ever. There is a kitchen guests can use but they charge Q20 to use it. They helped me with the bus to Lanquín and transport from Lanquín to Antigua, but it would have been Q25 cheaper to book the transport to Antigua in Lanquín. And if you book a shuttle in Lanquín they pick you up and you don't have to go to the bus stop yourself.Guest review byAydenSolo traveler

There is a large shared kitchen with a gas hob and breakfast is included. The hostal is undergoing Renovations but the staff were caring enough to ensure that we had a quiet room away from the building noise. It will be an exceptional place to stay when renovations are complete. Decor is tasteful and cheery, and the room was equipped with a closet, table, chair and reading lamp, and a super comfortable bed. We enjoyed our breakfast on the sweet balcony.
