Casa Qatzig is a good place to meet other travelers. I hiked up Atitlán Volcano with two other guests, for example, which was great! The rooms are reasonably priced. The volunteer staff members are nice and full of good information and they put together a useful little guidebook for guests of things to do and places to go. The shared bathroom was kept clean. The Wifi worked well. The place is easy to find and the location is very central overall. There's a nice outdoor seating area/garden.

The location was great, in central San Juan, close to both the lake side, and the town. The accommodation was easy to find, Feliciana and her sister were so welcoming. They each insisted if there was anything at all we needed, to come and find them, and I felt they genuinely meant it.
My favourite thing was watching the sunrise from the garden each morning, a glorious outdoor space, it felt very private and we spent quite a lot of time there each morning. Great to have use of the shared kitchen, the shower had hot water, and everything was clean.
I would very much recommend this accommodation, they were attentive, kind and generous with their time, expertise and culture.

We enjoyed our stay at Baraka Atitlan! The view cannot be beat. Mornings sipping coffee listening to the birds above the lake were truly a dream and afternoons swimming in the sun were ideal. It was a quick walk to San Marcos as well, where we could grab groceries, go to yoga or easily get a water taxi to other lakeside towns.

We loved our stay at Una Noche! Very comfortable room with extra blankets, gave us a fan when we asked for it. Awesome little lounge area. We had everything we needed to make coffee and breakfast in the morning. My friend ended up getting sick during our stay and we were able to stay longer. Our host checked in on us throughout making sure we were well taken care of!

the family who lives here were so accommodating and quick to help. they spoke to us in slow and clear Spanish which we really appreciated because we’re still learning. the kitchen had everything we needed, and the homestay is in a pretty quiet area.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
We stayed in the camp site. The location and surroundings are beautiful. We asked for the inflatable mattress to be swapped for a material one and it was actually quite comfortable. It was quiet and lovely to wake up there.
The kitchen is so well equipped, my food finally tasted like something again! I enjoyed the feeling of the big communal living room, and when people cooked traditional Guatemalan food, I got a bite :) The hostel itself is nice, and I was glad to have an affordable private room.
A beautiful garden that is the best at this camping. A walking distance from the village, but far away enough to have peace and quiet. There is a kitchen and a fridge if you plan to stay a while. Very pleasant, green surroundings.
Lovely stay, friendly staff, nice quiet Mayan town on the lake away from tourist centres. Some good little hikes around. Wifi and hot water works, hammocks etc to chill in.
Very nice location. Right on main street within easy walking distance of the central park and many good eateries, restaurants, and other attractions. Very good hotel owner and host who made sure we had everything we needed on arrival and throughout our stay. Even provided access to clean drinking water throughout our stay. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
