I originally booked Pension Cotton Farm just as a convenient place near the ski resort, but it turned out to be so much more—I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and happiness during my stay!
The host is a friendly and cheerful woman who made my solo trip feel less lonely. She often chatted with me, sharing stories about her interests, work, and the local culture, making me feel completely at home. Her mother plays the piano in the lounge, her father crafts fishing tools in the workshop, and her sweet grandmother greets guests every morning with a gentle voice—small gestures that create a truly heartwarming atmosphere.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the homemade fruit jam—I loved it so much that I even bought two jars to bring back to Taiwan! Their home-made fruit wine was also fantastic. I regret not trying more flavors—I should have had two different ones every day!
The entire place is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, which is impressive for a wooden house. The bathroom was bright, pristine, and filled with Japanese charm, making my stay even more enjoyable.

The host was extremely kind and prepared a special "chawanmushi" for me. I was very touched by her kindness and the extra touches to make me feel at home. Kitchen was VERY well organized!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Excellent Host, very clean and moden apartment, full equipped kitchen, good location, nice decoration....
We have two small folding bikes and planned to do a round 羊蹄山 cycling. Kimi is so nice to propose us use an e-bike that make the trip easier. It is a good bike, My wife enjoy it very much.
Thank you Kimi
I would highly recommand SLOPE and we will surely be back !
- Property is a 5 minute walk from kutchan Station, 3 minute walk from a supermarket, so you can cook and prepare food as you like.
- The views around the property are gorgeous.
- There is also a free shuttle every morning to the slopes.
- The place is clean and has a homey vibe.
- manager Ryo-san is an asset to this place, he is an expert on the area and a great host.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who comes to niseko/kutchan, whatever the season.
The premises is a hostel that caters for skiers during Winter. We had the tatami beds in a private room and if we can cope aged 57 and 60 anybody can!
It was the cheapest we could find but we enjoyed, aside from the cold showers, but it was cheap in comparison 😀
Tbox was in a great location. Walking distance to many places. The facilities were perfect for a ski trip with a storage room and laundry facilities. Danny our host provided us with great information at all times of the day/night.
Hostel with quiet and respectful guests. Incredibly kind hosts, beautifully served breakfast, and convenient ski shuttle to Hirafu. A welcome escape from the Hirafu ski town vibe.
We had an amazing stay here. Riyo is a great host and went out of his way for us multiple times. Pick ups from the train station and morning shuttles to Mt Hirafu made things so easy. The dorm rooms are the most spacious I have had and they are super private and warm. The common areas are clean and inviting. You feel at home the moment you walk in. The kitchen has everything you need and the effort Riyo puts in for cleanliness doesn't go unnoticed. Highly recommend this place.
The hostel was lovely, the rooms were clean and plenty of space, and Ryo san was a great host, 10/10 would go again and can't recommend strongly enough
