Set in Aswan, 24 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum, Wanees Hostel offers air-conditioned accommodation and a shared lounge.

Very cool place, staff incredibly friendly, they made my life so much easier. Props to the night shift receptionnist Hassan Mohammed who guided me through the options and through local life. The hostel, although hard to find at first, is really well located if you want a deep and authentic immersion into Aswan's life.

Kashta Nubian Guest Houst has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Aswan.

Wonderful stay in a traditional nubian guest house. Very clean and comfortable, and nothing was too much for Omar. He helped us to organise any trips we wanted and to navigate the island. Fantastic breakfast on the rooftop and a refreshing welcome drink. If we had an early trip, Omar made us breakfast to go and showed us the best of Arabic hospitality. Thank you Omar we are very grateful 🙏 We felt very safe on Elephantine island, relaxed and quiet, easy to get to and from the mainland and some lovely nubian restaurants. Would definitely recommend to stay here rather than the mainland.

DoroKa Nubian House features a private beach area, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Aswan.

We recently had a brief six-hour stay at a unique accommodation, and I must say, the experience was surprisingly delightful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was evident. The host was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met. One of the standout features of this stay was the convenience they offered. They arranged for transportation to pick us up from the airport, providing either a car or a tuk-tuk, which added a fun local touch to our journey. Given that our flight arrived super late, we were especially grateful that the host also packed us a lovely breakfast for the next morning as our tour started at 4am. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made the early morning feel much more comfortable. The room itself was tidy and well-maintained, providing a clean and cozy atmosphere for a short rest. The shower setup was interesting, needed an extra towel as almost slipped over as there’s no barrier and the water goes everywhere. And the shower head couldn’t stay up, so not ideal to wash your hair. Overall, this accommodation has a cool setting, and the combination of thoughtful service, a clean room, and unique amenities made for a memorable experience, even if it was brief. Highly recommend it for anyone passing through!

Situated in Aswan, within 18 km of Aga Khan Mausoleum and 11 km of Nubian Museum, بيت شمس features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free private parking for...

Very beautiful place, well taken care of, with colorful paintings on the walls, Nubian style. The owners were very kind and welcoming. They helped us with the trip to Abu Simbel and with transfers. They welcomed us with a cup of mint tea, which they grow themselves. The breakfast they prepared was delicious and very big. Amazing quality for good price. Strongly recommend!

David hostel has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Aswan. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a barbecue.

Disclaimer: This is not a 5-star stay, so don’t compare it as such. However, considering the price and David’s exceptional hospitality, it’s absolutely worth it. Accommodation: Good, clean, and comfortable. Moreover, David kindly upgraded our accommodation in Aswan to a whole apartment so that my family and I could stay together and enjoy privacy. This thoughtful gesture made our stay even more comfortable. Host: David is professional, transparent, polite, kind, and always helpful. He arranged the best tour deals in Aswan and Luxor and even helped us find a great stay near the Cairo airport. Additionally, he organized a Philae Temple tour and Nubian Village visit on very short notice, making our trip even more seamless. Breakfast & Dinner: David went the extra mile by providing packed traditional breakfast early in the morning for our Abu Simbel day tour and transfer to Luxor. He also included a basic dinner at no extra cost—what more can you ask for? Highly recommended!

Set in Aswan, 23 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum, Go Inn Backpackers offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Good value for money, nice and quiet location close to the river, 15 minutes walk to the Elephantine island ferry and more convenient than staying on the island itself. Had a room with a balcony and great view on the Nile

Set in Ash Shallāl, 20 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum, Nubian Hights guesthouse offers air-conditioned accommodation and a terrace.

The place is amazing, a fantastic location that is unparalleled in all of Aswan. The service is excellent. The reception is more than wonderful. The owner of the house pays attention to all the details. There is also a tuk-tuk in the hotel that you can use to take to the main street. I will come back again.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They gave me plenty of recommendations and did not overcharge for water (like many hostels and hotels do). The area felt safe as staff as well as locals from the village would assist if need be.

This is the nicest place I have been in Egypt. Mango hostel is a very beautiful hotel, with colors everywhere and plants. It’s not in the city but in the island just in front (5 min by public boat, very easy) so it’s quiet and chill. The room was comfortable and all clean. What was the best, is the staff. They are all very kind, and make sure you feel good and safe. They also arrange you tour if you need. A little heaven.

Great location in Elephant Island!! This is a great place to experience authentic Nubian culture and lifestyle. I highly recommend to stay here rather than in central Aswan, The ferry is very easy to get and is very cheap. You are also close to shops and restaurants plus your are supporting a local family

Property is in a quiet area of Aswan, away from the noisy city. Crossing the street it has an exclusive area to swim into the Nile river or do some kayaking, which are rented for a cheap price. They also offer water and soft drinks and a small breakfast included. You can easily spend many days relaxing in the hostel, without even leaving to do attractions.

Great owner who was very helpful, the room was nice, and I loved the view from the rooftop! The hostel is on the island and is very easy and cheap to reach by public ferry (takes 5mins). Walking around the island is also fun. Check out King Jamaica for some good food. :)

This village is great if you want to experience local life. The staff here are really nice and always ready to help with a smile. It's very safe to walk around this island even at night. I felt comfortable with the Nubian people and trusted them completely. For those seeking conformity, this hostel may not align. But if you want to relax and enjoy the peacefulness while looking at the stars, this is the place to be
