Very nice hostel, ideally situated (center). The staff is nice and helpful, the dorm is big and the bed cosy. There is even a bathroom inside the dorm (and many others outside). Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. Overall it's a really good option in Dublin.
The reason why I'm putting a bad review is because of an incident : I booked a bed in a female dorm. On the last night, around midnight, a guy got in and slept in one of the beds. He made a huge mess, leaving the lights on, making a lot of noise etc.. then around 3am another guy came in, left the door open and started looking for the first guy to tell him to leave the female dorm. So I had a terrible night and I still don't know how a man could get in the female dorm. This should not be possible and such a mistake should not and can not be made. I went to talk to the staff the next morning and she said she didn't know about it and the night staff didn't tell her anything. So who was the second guy? How did he know there was a guy sleeping with us? This is all very confusing and disturbing.
Anyway, if the staff actually reads the reviews, I would like to know what happened and how.

No use of a lift so if you have heavy luggage it can be difficult to navigate the stairs. As it is in the temple bar area, it is incredibly noisy throughout the night, I would advise taking ear plugs or using headphones. I found the bed to be comfortable and the facilities met my needs.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location for town, we got upgraded from a private twin room with a shared bathroom to a private 4 bed dorm with an en-suite. The room was clean, beds comfy and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was good, just toast, cold meat, cheese, fruit, salad and soup but a great addition to the already cheap stay.
Good value for money, in that it was cheap and right beside Connolly station. Clean, with a comfortable bed and warm water in the shower. There's a nice bar in the foyer area and they serve good food too. Overall, a good hostel if you're on a budget.
Ashfield Hostel by far the best hostel I have ever been to. A perfect place for backpackers, great environment, excellent hospitality and most importantly outstanding location.
Think youth hostel, dormitories, study rooms, multi cubicle showers and toilets, kitchen, laundry, helpful staff, cafe.
Quiet safe clean rooms, solid enclosed bunks with a comfy mattress, shelf, light and charger inside the bunk and a curtain to for privacy.
Also a locker/drawer under the bunk for stuff.
Didn't hear any noise from any other guest during the night
Staff friendly, helpful and efficient
Nice area for cafe, old stained glass architecture, relaxed with other guests
Outside garden for relaxing, chilled
Really nice hotel room, great location and fantastic value for money. It's the only hotel where I've been asked to leave a deposit which was a bit strange, felt a bit like a hostel in that way. Now, the sound proofing between rooms isn't that great but you cannot hear the traffic outside despite it being on a busy road. Overall, I loved the room and had a nice stay right on Temple Bar.
Felt safe in my room as a female travelling alone for work. Doors locked from the inside (this is strangely uncommon on budget hotels). Great location. GREAT restaurant downstairs for a convenient supper.
I stayed in in the hostel and it was exactly what a hostel should be cheap clean and safe the staff were very professional and helpful I will stay again there on my next vist too Dublin plus the price isn’t too bad either
Best hostel I have ever stayed in. Really clean and comfortable. The bunk bed set up is brilliant - all feels very private and safe. It was quiet at night, I never had to queue for the showers and the lounge / dining and study rooms are excellent. It’s a short walk into town and right by a bus stop. Lots of nice places to eat and drink just minutes away.
