With the best location in town, locally owned On Top Backpackers & Apartments has something for every traveller!

There for a show so only needed a bed for a few hours. Bunk style bed dorm. Mixed. Great to have a pool hall for few games before retiring to bed

Looking for a hostel?
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location, the people you stay with here you can easily make friendships and such a good atmosphere. Bonus Points as they have a Cute Golden Retriever Puppy in residence. I wished I stayed longer as Uptown Backpackers feels like a 2nd Family.

Very clean, modern room, fabulous bed, most of the staff were friendly. Great location and even though it's right in the city , they clearly have great sound proofing as I hardly heard any traffic.

We were able to book this at a budget price so although decor was a little tired, it was comfortable and clean and provided everything we needed for an overnight stay. Free parking and great location were the bonus.

An amazing historical hotel full of history if you take the time to browse. Beautiful courtyard, old school kiwi bar, chandeliers, clean rooms and friendly staff. Thee best location and very affordable !!! I stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Felt very safe and cozy. Small room with small bathroom with great shower, lots of hot water and great water pressure. 3 beds, like a hostel but better and more affordable. Absolute loved it, walked everywhere.

The staff were super friendly! Check in and out was so quick and easy, the room was comfortable, great location and I loved that the female dorm had a keypad lock instead of a key for that extra sense of security! I would highly recommend this hostel!

Great location across the street from the intercity coach stop and the suburban bus centre. Nice cafe 20 meters away. Very close (walking distance) to inner city. Very quiet at night and felt safe.

In terms of youth hostels, it was the best accommodation I have had so far in New Zealand. Unpretentious but comfortable, with everything you need, in a great location and with friendly and helpful staff.
