Set in National Park, 15 km from Mount Ruapehu, National Park Backpackers offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities.

Great base if you're doing walks and activities in the area. Big shared dining room and good kitchen facilities - ideal if you're traveling on a budget like us. There are also restaurants and food trucks nearby if you don't feel like cooking. We even went down memory lane and watched a movie from the VHS collection in reception!

Old rooms with super thin walls. The kitchen was ok, windows left open and flies everywhere. Cheap place to stay for a night before doing the crossing walk.

Lovely place. Lots of crockery in kitchen to use. Really clean and great location. We enjoyed the walk to the stream.
