Staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. The location is perfect to walk to area attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was simple but perfect. The room was a little larger than in Europe, clean, and modern. FYI the nearest pick up stop for tours, etc is Bus stop #1 - City Hall.

Newly renovated during the spring of 2023, Hotel Local 101 is an independent hotel quietly tucked away in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, on a charming street made up of classical Icelandic homes.

The hotel is just off the main strip of all the shopping & eating, but close enough to just walk there. The staff, from the front desk to the lady who set up daily breakfast were all very friendly, approachable and attentive. I stayed for 4 nights, got in at 8am from the airport the first day. They have a nice area set aside to store my luggage, use the bathroom and freshen up. All much appreciated after a long flight.

Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast that was delivered to our room daily was definitely one of the highlights of our day. The fresh bread was delicious and the food in the basket allowed us to experience the wonderful foods of Iceland. Great location.

Set an 8-minute drive from central Reykjavik, this hotel offers free parking and brightly decorated rooms with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access. Kringlan Shopping Center is 0.6 mi away.

The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast buffet was decent, but the seating arrangements were a bit cramped, with tables placed very close together. The gentleman sitting at the table beside me accidentally knocked over a small vase containing a live flower and water spilled all over my table as he attempted to squeeze into his seat.
