The location and waterfall circle hike was the singular highlight of our trip to Iceland even with all the daily amazing experiences. The spa pools are incredible and the staff was super accommodating (even with challenging dietary limitations).
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
It is a location in the Highlands that is accessible. Mostly paved roads and close to a regional center. The drive is beautiful. The hikes around the lodge are accessible and varied for different skill levels. The hot pools are glorious.
This place is more for adventurers and less for families. A beautiful remote area and a big plus is the hot spring, but there is no kitchen and if you are with a little child it is a bit difficult.
