We had a wonderful time at Finca Mystica. This is a very special place with the nicest people. Everyone was so kind and helpful in arranging excursions and transportation. The food was also excellent. Whether you want to do lots of activities or just chill out, Finca Mystica is the perfect peaceful base on Ometepe.

We woke up very early for the volcano hike, and they prepared breakfast for us so we could eat before, that was really nice. The staff was very kind and attentive. The shower had hot water. The surroundings are nice, you eat in the morning surrounded by birds and flowers. The hike to Maderas starts at the entrance of the hotel, and the staff can help you to arrange a guide.

What a wonderful experience! Staying in an elevated cabin in the middle of the jungle was unreal! I stayed in La Malinche cabin which offered a direct view of the volcano. It’s magical! The cabin is opened on all sides so you feel the breeze and hear the sounds of birds, howler monkeys and other animals. You may wake up to some howlers right outside! The bed net is a saviour as you’ll probably get a few critters that make their way into the room (tip: keep your bags closed). You will smell the fruit trees and see varieties of butterflies on the property. The restaurant has an incredible view, especially at sunset! The staff are extremely helpful in organizing anything you need (transportation, rentals, recommendations, etc.) Everyone was very friendly! Please note that La Bambouseraie and Selvista Guesthouse is on the same grounds and offer the same facilities (restaurant, common kitchen area, reception, etc.) Only the type of accommodation is different. If using a taxi, use Selvista as a reference for directions. Also, I see a lot of comments about things like hot water and A/C but these are luxuries that are not commonly found in Nicaragua and you quickly learn to do without.

There were several restaurants, cafes and tiendas within walking distance (including a supermercado), the staff was fantastic, and the grounds were stunning. A true paradise!

Finca Ometepe was the highlight of our visit to Isla Ometepe! We enjoyed the warm hospitality of our hosts, Hanna and Hakan, who welcomed us to their home, shared their food, showed us around the farm and made us feel at home!. It was a very special experience for all of us, we had never experienced something similar on our travels before. We picked organic greens for salad together, participated in milking the goats, searching for eggs, processing Cacao and Cafe grown on the farm, enjoyed making our own pizza in their clay oven, and baking the most delicious brownies from their cacao (and recipe!). The farm is beautiful and relaxed, the casita has comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and spacious outdoor dining area with hammocks to relax in. Breakfasts where homemade, yummy and varied, and on top of all of these, hauler monkeys visited nearby every morning!

Located in Santa Cruz, Dragon's Garden has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Maderas Volcano is 3.9 miles from the lodge.

Upon arrival, there was someone at the villas to assist with check-in. I was shown to my hut, the bathroom and shower facilities. At the front, there is a menu available during certain hours of the day. You can get food as well as freshly blended juices (I recommend the passionfruit). The staff was very friendly/helpful. There was also community bug spray available for the first night that I didn't have my own.
