We absolutely loved our stay. We were in the Elephant room and the views were absolutely spectacular. We loved being able to sleep with our door open to hear the faint sound of the sea coming n the distance. Debbie who managers the lodge made it extra special with her friendliness and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were outstanding. We will definitely go back.

Location is beautiful, with a view of the sea. We especially enjoyed the deck with the bar b cue and hot tub. A perfect place to relax, sunbathe and then end the day with a Bar-b-q.
The rooms are all spacious and with a nice beach vibe.
The kitchen had everything we needed!

If you want to be in the middle of nature, on the borders of a legendary forest, with the sounds of baboons barking in the distance and the scarlet and red flashes of the Knysna Loerie flying past your windows, this is your place. Absolute quiet but for the birds, views to the back of beyond and cottage comforts.
Situated close to the magnificent Knysna Lagoon, one of the jewels of Western Cape’s enchanting Garden Route, 47th on Howard offers the ultimate in luxury, style, service and location.

A superb location with stunning elephants, amazing staff and a beautiful garden. I would probably stay here in preference to other places near Plett, as we love elephants. Our room opened on to a communal, comfortable lounge which was open to the sleeping quarters of the elephants so we could observe their comings and goings at night. my wife loved it! An extra bonus!
The staff are truly amazing. They are friendly and helpful, and the place is immaculate. The research staff are helpful and quite willing to share their knowledge without being indulgent. Management is never visible and everything runs like clockwork. Well done to them for their training and motivation of the staff from reception to housekeeping, gardening, guiding and restaurant staff. You are sad when you check-out ! A home from home !
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
We loved everything about our stay at the Knysna Hollow Country Estate. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The estate is also very child-friendly. The lodges are fantastic with modern interior and very clean. It was a great experience and we can only recommend this accomondation!
this is one of the best lodges at the gardenroute! the view on the lagoon - awesome, the suites are very classy, food very nice, staff very professional - its heavan on earth. we are returning guests.
I love the fact that John Appelgryn and his team always go the extra mile- I realise that many people miss the ball there in todays life
But John really has a personal hand's on approach where it comes to being a host in his lodges
Thank you for great service
It was so quite and peaceful. Loved how private the lodges are. Our cars parked in the shade😊 The swimming pool was clean and warmer in the evening, we enjoyed swimming at night. Absolutely loved the lights in case of Loadshedding. That was very thoughtful.
The view was stunning. The lodge was really cosy and nice. The quietness around the lodges was great, getting away from the hustle and bustle from a noisy Cape Town.
