Very nice and quiet village located in the beautiful island of Gozo, It is pleasant to go for a walk in during both the day and night. This city is well known for the carnival times where it is packed with people walking around the streets with scary costumes during february. If you are into food I would recommend going to the "maxokk" (pronounced mash-hogg) bakery which makes amazing ftiras and pizzas which you'll find nowhere else on the islands of malta and gozo.
Convenient for Public transport with a bus direct from the ferry - or use another bus route from Victoria. A large resort town bearing in mind that Gozo is a small island. Marsalforn has a few Bars but numerous eating outlets which are of a good standard.
Xaghra is a very rustic and traditional village in the island of Gozo. If you want to feel and experience the true culture of Gozitans, here is the place to come.
A wonderful town in Gozo right off the Ferry. there are a few great restaurants close to the Harbour. Sammy's is NOT one of them... There service and food is horrible. Save your time and money and eat anywhere else! Otherwise, its worth the trip on the Ferry to see the town
The Citadel in the Victoria city center is an extraordinary site. The new renovation is simply spectacular. The Gozo public bus system is excellent and central to the Victoria city center. Excellent way to experience the island. So many good restaurants to choose from.
Practically all of the island of Gozo is beautiful. We go there at least 2-3 times a year, however this time round we decided to visit a few places in the village of Xaghra such as Ggantija temples and Toy Museum. It was a great relaxing experience!
Gharb has an excellent Crafts Village, checkout Gozo Glass, good food, Rangers and Salvina in particular. 15 minuets bus ride to Victoria where you can catch buses to all points of the island and very good walk trails.
Plenty of history to explore here, the Citadel has benefitted from a massive update since joining the EU and is now very smart. Plenty of restaurant options at reasonable cost and check out the back streets for quaint local speciality shops. We went over New Year and there’s a big (for Gozo) party in the central market place. Good public transport links but if you want to get to some of the more remote coastal locations you’ll need a car. Shame the Azure window has gone but apparently the dive site is now more interesting. We have stayed in a villa in Xlendi in the summer and in Victoria at the Duke hotel which is pretty central for everything in Victoria. A week is probably as long as you’ll need although we have done a fortnight which included several trips over to Malta.
It's a great little town centrally located in Gozo. It is right on the edge of the Ta' Cenc cliffs, which is one of the most beautiful views on the island.
We only stayed in Gozo for two days and it was too short! Personally speaking, I prefer Gozo to the mainland of Malta as Gozo is very quiet and close to nature. People are really friendly and once I looked a bit lost while waiting for my friend and several locals came to me asking if I need any help :) It is a perfect place for scuba diving and a visit to Comino from Gozo is very convenient. We had our trip with the family-run cruise business called Hornblower and the staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. They have artificial grass on the top deck to create a nice ambience and provide chairs for free so that we can enjoy the sun without fighting for a tiny little place on the beach, which is usually very packed. They also have lockers and snorkelers for free with a small deposit of 5 to 10 euros. The staffs also have creams in case you get stung by the jellyfish. We had our divings with Bubbles Dive Center and it was also wonderful experience. They really took care of everything and the equipment were very new. They try to keep the group as small as only 4 people maximum, which is definitely a selling point. The price they offer is also reasonable. I would definitely come back to go diving with them again.
Wonderful stay at Hotel Calypso Our experience at Hotel Calypso in Gozo was exceptional. The location is unbeatable, with spectacular sea views and just a short walk from the beaches. The facilities were immaculate, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and always ready to help, providing us with excellent local recommendations. The relaxed atmosphere of the hotel made our vacation unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect getaway in Gozo.
Santa Luċija
The location was ideal because the area was really quiet. You can enjoy the whole day at the pool without any disturbances or noises from cars, honking, and so on. The staff was amazing; Mr. Francesco was delightful, always asking if we needed something. He explained everything to us and showed us around the house, which, by the way, is amazing. The walls, the interior design, and all those small things you cannot easily find in Malta make Sweet Life Gozo a proper house of character. This is a place I would like to come back certainly.
Property is located in a very quiet area with plenty of street parking, yet close to all amenities. The penthouse enjoys abundance of natural light in all rooms which creates an airy and welcoming atmosphere. Apartment is also very clean and well kept. We also enjoyed staying on the terrace during our stay and that the place has ACs in every room. The apartment complex is homey and very quiet. The hosts Roseanne and Jessica are also amazing and they helped us with everything we needed. Would definitely book again when we travel to Gozo.
Victoria
Family of 4 with two small kids. Our favorite of 3 places we stayed in Malta. We were deciding between this place and another closer to city center and we absolutely made the right choice. We relied on other reviews re how clean and well appointed this was. Those reviews were accurate. It’s clear this is a particularly attended to and taken care of apartment. It was a luxury to have a proper espresso machine! Excellent interactions with host. Never a problem street parking. Stay here if you’re in Gozo.
Nadur
This was a magical property and I enjoyed my stay so much. It is in a quiet location but very close to bus stops and about ten minute walk to the center of Nadur. I also walked from here to Ramla Bay and it was a beautiful hike of maybe 45 minutes with beautiful views. Lovely communal kitchen to use. Easy to catch the bus to other places on Gozo. Felt safe as a solo female traveler. Beautiful gardens and the best views. Thank you so much for my best stay in Malta and I hope to return.
Marsalforn
Marsalforn. Anyone who tells you that one day on Gozo is a fool! And Apt 5 is a GEM. Only blocks from the awesome small seaside village town, grocery stores and amazing restaurants we will treasure in our memories forever. Our host Joseph, who owns the apt, knows everyone in town and will give you wonderful recommendations. The apartment was beyond what we needed and a treasure to find. The pictures don’t lie. DO NOT book hotels/rooms a block from town. Massive construction.
Duke's Boutique Hotel provides a high-end experience at a mid-level price. The rooms are very large and very comfortable. The breakfast buffets are very tasty and have a broad range of options. The staff are very courteous. The location within Victoria on the island of Gozo is very central, making it easy to access the bus network, and the location is near many shops and restaurants including the shops on the bottom three floors.
Hotel service is excellent and views are to die for. Room's balcony offers views of pool and the picturesque fields and seas of Gozo. Location is exceptional. Unlimited Pool access, TV complete with access to netflix and youtube and breakfast with array of items further complemented our stay at Gozo. Hotel manager was always around and his passion towards can be reflected by the smooth running of the hotel. Highly recomended.
Qala
Renee and Paulo where amazing hosts and they have the best host dog Wendy🐕. They've been very helpful and careing and very nice to talk too. Breakfast was always fresh and very tasty(Renee is a great cook😊). House is very nice and clean and full of history. Bus station, D bar restaurant (very good, try grilled salmon) and store are less than 4 min walk. We defenetly recomeend to stay there and enjoy seeing Gozo and Malta🌊
Xewkija
We liked everything. The bed was confy and the room had plenty of space. The host is super nice, he helped us with everything we needed and he shared with us some facts about Malta and Gozo island. The breakfast was very good. Also, the area is quiet and the quiet times were respected in the house. There is a bus station nearby to Victoria and also to the Ferry Terminal. We had a great time. The dog is also lovely.
Hotel is stunning building, very well presented with a great rooftop pool. Staff all friendly and helpful. Our room was incredible and really epitomised the Gozo history and architecture. Very comfy bed, stunning facilities, bath and bathroom. Pool area really secluded and peaceful with great range of beds and umbrellas. Just slightly outside Xlendi so gives you the option for peaceful retreat
Sannat
Probably the best place to stay in Gozo. Even with the construction going on in the area, the place is extremely quiet and relaxing. The hosts are great. The place is very well organized, the rooms a big and comfortable (a thing you rarely find in Gozo or Malta). Recommend parking your car in the garage so you don't boil every time you get into the car :)
We stayed for 5 nights, while doing a diving course nearby. Great hosts and exceptional place, with a garden terrace to enjoy delicious breakfast prepared for the guests. Apartments are also close to the main square, from where you can easily reach other places in Gozo by public transportation. Would definitely stay again!
Marsalforn
Apartment had everything we needed, especially a lovely balcony. We appreciated the welcome pack. Was in a quiet area away from noise etc. but shops, nice places to eat were in walking distance. We stayed for 2 nights, and were able to drive around and see all the attractions and places of interest on Gozo.
Marsalforn
The apartment is brand new and was super clean. It has two balconies with amazing views. The host was kind and responding our messages very fast. Location was excellent with less than a 5 min walk from the sea and restaurants. I totally recommend it if you are looking for a short holiday stay in Gozo.
Victoria
Hotel is situated ideally to explore Victoria/Rabat many shops markets and restaurants surrounded the hotel. Ideal location to visit the citadel an the entrance is only 150 metres The bus station is located approximately 500 metres from the hotel and you can explore Gozo by bus without a problem
This is an amazing value in Gozo. It has a great view of the bay, excellent restaurants nearby, and the apartment is a nice size and well equipped. We used the balcony for enjoying the view, drying clothes washed but the washer on site, and for having a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Xlendi
Hotel is spotless, breakfast is excellent. Doreen the host is exceptional. Beautifully furnished rooms overlooking breathtaking views, friendly and outgoing staff, excellent service and an exquisite breakfast with optional room service. Best boutique hotel in Gozo, highly recommended
We had a great stay at the Battistini Boutique Hotel. The room was very clean and modern, and the breakfast was also outstanding. We also enjoyed the Spa, which we can recommend after a hiking day on Gozo :) Finally Giovanna, the host of the hotel, was super friendly.
Victoria
Apartment is very well located in heart of the city. It's very easy to visit all monuments and touristic places on Gozo because the main bus station is close to apartament. House is built in classic gozitan style. Check in and check out without any problems.
