Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe noise from the ballroom carried on until 3am one night which was very intrusive. The worst thing is the bathroom - there is none! There's no privacy - the sink is in the room, the shower is glass and only has a curtain on one side, but the worst is the toilet - the glass door offers no privacy - or sound-proofing at all.
The breakfast spread was really good and the bar very cool. The coffee station outside our room was welcome (although you had to be dressed to visit it!). We were lucky it was so close to our room. We liked our terrace.

United KingdomBreakfast was very expensive, particularly for not even having a cooked element (€24). Location is quite far from the main sites (40-45 minute walk). We had a ‘lovely room’ and that’s quite snug/ minimal storage space (lived out of suitcase).
Bar space was really nice to sit and relax, staff were friendly. Rooms were clean, bed and shower good.

GermanyIts not a proper hotel in the old fashioned sense, two floors of hotel rooms and a central reception/bar, but actually that was a cool idea. The rooms wrap around the Sofiensäale where there are balls and private parties (which you cant hear because the rooms are well insulated). It took a while to figure out the heating system, so the first night was cold. Second was warm.
Very modern and stylish, minimalist and efficient. Very friendly staff, design is fun.

AustriaThe staff are very nice and friendly. The corridors and rooms could do with a havy clean and refurbishment. A lot of things have been worn and tattered since opening. It would be nice if the hotel kept up the super initial standard. The doors are very dirty. Every fingerprint is visible on the black doors.

GermanyThe shower as a showroom takes a bit of getting used to but is ok if you are travelling alone.
Centrally located hotel as part of the rebuilt Sophiensäle. Wonderfully quiet and spacious rooms, functionally furnished in a minimalist style. Friendly reception, attractive bar/lounge area. Breakfast looked good, unfortunately I didn't have time to try it. Very good value for money. The hotel is a great find, I would book it again in a heartbeat for a weekend break or a business trip.

SingaporeLocation was quite far from the train station, and the hotel breakfast was not good. The selection was very limited for its price. Would not recommend the breakfast.
There was a balcony and room was quite spacious. There was also a high quality speaker in the room which was really cool.

United KingdomCoffee machine, mini fridge, streaming service on the TV would make the room perfect, I think. During my stay, there was a boxing match going on in the theatre next door, and entrance was full of guys going for these matches. I felt a bit unease walking through the crowd into the hotel every time. I think the hotel entrance should have a designated entrance separate from the gym / theatre entrance. Upstairs was very well maintained with nice decor but entrance on GF was not so much.
I really loved the decor of this hotel and surprisingly very good sound proofing! I didn’t even need the earplugs to sleep in.

United KingdomStayed for 3 night on a weekend break with friends. Nice clean hotel and Good value for money although it’s not as central as we had hoped. Not too much of a problem as we just picked up Ubers to travel into the centre as there were 6 of us. Rooms were a good size. Didn’t have breakfast but enjoyed a cocktail of two in the lovely bar. Overall an enjoyable stay

FinlandPretty close to the Wien Mitte station, train S7 take you the from the airport. Peaceful location but you need to walk half a kilometer to the public transportation. Quite sizable room. If you prefer fresh air before your breakfast, a genuine Wiennese café Zartl, 7 minutes walk away, is serving you in early morning already. An old school place (=big portions, cash only, etc)

Portugal- The breakfast: is was extremely overpriced and generally not good. 24€ per day, and it doesn't include the usual variety or quality that you'd expect from the price, even considering other Austrian cities or German-speaking countries (and I'm including Switzerland here). For less than that you can have a proper lunch on the same street as the hotel. Examples: on one of the days there was no fruit; and on the rest, there was just one (or two, tops) varieties. By "usual variety" I mean "scrambled eggs or omelettes or crepes" - there were only boiled eggs - or "yogurts" - there weren't any as far as we saw - or "bread to make toasts" - there was bread, but it wasn't good. Besides all of that, the breakfast tables were uncomfortable and at times dirty. - 2 of the 3 rooms we have tried have had showers that do not contain the water, leaving the bathroom floor completely wet. - The elevator is a bit slow, and there were no stairs in sight. There are only 5 floors, so it's not unreasonable to use the stairs, but we could not find any signage for them.
Great location, and well organised rooms that provide most of the common necessities (shower gel and shampoo, hair dryer, good curtains), and the sound was quite well isolated.

United KingdomJust a couple of small things, my room 539, didn't have a safe so I ended up using my friends safe in the room next door and neither of us could work out how to use the beautiful table lamps in the room. It was a shame that the hotel is attached to a large banqueting hall as the second night of the stay we could here the loud music, singing and presentations until 1 am in the morning so didn't have a good nights sleep. Putting this aside the hotel and its staff were great and we would definitely recommend the Ruby Sofie.
The staff were brilliant, especially Lena. The buffet breakfast was very good and an added bonus was that the staff would willingly make you a speciality coffee, if preferred, included in the price. We found the hotel to be well situated, just a 15 mins walk from the town centre and the rooms were clean, bright and cosy and as described on the website. The coffee station along the corridor was also much appreciated with free tea and coffee and hot water, if needed.

United KingdomI am coeliac. Breakfast had allergens labelled but when I asked to check which letter was gluten. I was told the wrong one. She did give me a pack of gluten free bread though. Luckily I can tell the difference between dairy products and gluten containing products. I looked up the codes on the internet for day 2 when I realised they are standard across Austria
