Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It was difficult to find staff around the property and the reception always seemed closed. However when we did find staff they were very friendly and helpful.
Eco conscious accommodation and very spacious. Everywhere seemed quite clean and the facilities were good. Slightly further away from things however the bus stop is right outside so you can get around easily.

If your'e so worried about climate action (which your signs suggest), you'd have the rooms screened for mosquitoes. People could then keep their windows open for fresh air instead of putting on the air con or fan.
The kitchen was good and roomy.

Of course parking is an issue being a smallish property, but it wasn't awful, perhaps I am being picky, lol. Our room was a bit noisy being located to the outside handbasin, but it isn't a deal breaker.
Good clean basic facilities with exceptional staff who made the stay a pleasant one. The kitchen facilities were a real bonus & contributed to further savings.

I didn't like the check in, as the front desk didn't seem to be attended very much, even during the advertised hours. I also found it difficult to know where to enter reception. I would have liked to have had a proper freezer in the kitchen and/or room in addition to the fridge.
I liked the setting. Peaceful gardens and lovely to wake up to beautiful birdsong in the morning. I liked the fact that there was off-street parking and the car park was fairly close to the rooms. General cleanliness good.

Other guests a little loud when using share facilities near our room, fairly late at night.

No kettle in the room even though there were mugs and sachets of coffee/tea/sugar!!? Rooms come with a tub of cutlery and plates and u need to carry these to the shared kitchen area. It's a great area but feels like it's been set up by a control freak and I felt like a child who couldn't be trusted! Fair enough food but come on, give me a kettle in the room! Anyway be sure to take your room mugs with you to the kitchen as you wont find any in there.
Good value, friendly staff, like the rustic look of the place and beautiful gardens with nice spots to sit.

The stuff Brent is super friendly and passionate to us. He helped us organize our whale watching tour, and offer us to leave the vehicle there after checking out until we finished the tour. All the facilities are very clean and tidy. Will definitely go back again if we’re visiting Hervey Bay again. Highly recommend.

Our room was right next to the shared toilet and shower facilities so there was a bit of noise with people going in and out all night, and there was someone talking very loudly on his phone outside our room at 2am but that wasn't the fault of the lodge. Cheap brand of coffee sachets and teabags and no milk supplied but at only $85 per night that's understandable
After hours check-in was very simple. Nice location, good value for money.

Dorm bunks did not have personal light or power point...a minor inconvenience.
Friendly and helpful owner. Verdant and tranquil garden is great for relaxing in. Communal kitchen/dining/lounge is spacious and well equipped. The property has a kind of rustic appeal, and is well maintained and clean.

Unfortunately we got the front room so traffic noise was quite loud.
Friendly staff, clean room and facilities. Nice atmosphere and great location. Not far from Woolworths and so close to quite a variety of dining along Esplanade.

the shower hadn’t been cleaned, with lots of tiny hairs all over the floor 🫤 poor care from the hostel guests more so than the property though
