Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Standard room a little small, but we spent most of our time outside anyway.
Beautiful view from the roofterrace, good breakfast, lovely staff, gym, sauna and yoga classes, perfect location! Also agreed to store our luggage for a few hours when we came back for a day later on.

The hotel's location alone woul dmake this an exceptional visit, but the roos, quality of service provided by staff and the breakfast really made it an 11 out of 10! Bets hotel breakfast I have ever had

Room was a little too small for the price, but everything was well organized and handy.
Arpoador has the best location if you want to stay in front of the beach: the restaurant has a wonderful terrace right before the beach start, no high traffic street in between. The area is safe and controlled, you can easily walk to Copacabana or Ipanema! Rooftop is amazing too, very nice to find activities like Yoga for all the guests! Staff extremely kind and helpful!

The A/C was a bit noisy

I made the reservation for a room with 2 beds and there was only one bed! We tried an upgrade but I did not see any effort from the hotel to make it work. We also made a reservation with a view for the beach and that did not happen whatsoever. The facilities were good but I definitely not coming back. The price was way too much for what we got. I was kid of disappointed with it.

Room are very very small - wardrobe is considered for max 2 days staying - no room for baggage or suitcase - if you open suitcase on the floor you cannot move in the room - this is very unconvenient !

On the weekend, breakfast was served on the terrace exclusively for guests, accompanied by an additional buffet. However, the service lacked efficiency. Food and beverages were left exposed to direct sunlight, causing juices to become warm and making the food susceptible to spoilage. The à la carte service was notably slow and uncoordinated; my meal arrived nearly 30 minutes after my wife's had been served. The room was small, and there was a constant noise resembling a turbine, which was quite disruptive. This persistent sound made it difficult to relax and enjoy the accommodations. The lack of detail in certain aspects of the decoration doesn't match what they say in their website, "The sophisticated simplicity of Arpoador" Overall, I don't think I would stay there again.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home. Additionally, both the hotel's location and its culinary taste were outstanding, significantly enhancing our overall experience.
