Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

This hostel is absolutely fantastic!The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay, offering helpful tips and a warm welcome. The entire place is spotless, from the bathrooms to the common areas. The kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for cooking your own meals. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with cozy common spaces to unwind or socialize. It's well-located, offers great value for money, and provides a memorable, comfortable experience.

I loved the staff and the how peaceful the property was. The dorms had privacy curtains and towels were included. It was also very close to the museum of contemporary art in Niterói

----- I like you people and your place and really don´t want to "criticize", but I have to say: *I tried to do some online work from "the Girls´ room" one day; it seems to have a little less stable Wifi-connection (?!) - and this room smelled sort of moist/damp. (ALWAYS something wrong if the Girls´ room smell worse than the Unisex rooms, ha!) It´s a nice idea having the girlie-room - but come on; those Ladies deserve better ;) :)
The Staff; especially miss Gabriela (w/glasses) - was suuper friendly, really going out of her way to help making the stay a nice experience. Very fine/stable Wifi (minus in *the Girls´ room) Oh, and "the marketing" doesn´t lie: this really IS the most charming little Yellow house in Niteroi :) You will like the atmosphere. The area is TRANQUILO; it felt relatively safe walking around, also at night (a lot safer than RJ Centro anyways). A cool area for exploring; museum/culture, 2 Malls, "city beaches", burger-bars... :)

It’s old and needs maintenance and a deep clean. Our bathroom shower would turn on when the neighboring room would shower. We had a roach run into the bedroom via the gap under the door. The furniture and bedding is very old.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the location is right next to the beach and Niteroi museum!

A beautiful hostel in a great location. Very easily accessible by car and enough places to eat reachable by foot. The staff were friendly and patient, also accessible if you don't speak a lot of Portuguese.

i couldn’t sleep. one day they turned on the Aircondicion in the middle of the night and it was freezing, and the other women in my room where really noisy and turned on the light in the middle of the night, they breakfasted and talked so lound starting at 8 o’clock and you could not talk to them about it. Once i tried an she said i should have patience. I feel really helpless because the stuff doesn’t understand and therfore did nothing because of the language barrier.
The Location is wunderfull.

People have to ring to get inside the hostel. Unfortunately the bell is so loud that it always woke me up at night. I don't know why we had a key but the other guests didn't. I suggest the hostel provides a key to everyone. We asked to move the room and we got an new room where you couldn't hear the bell :) The facility is not well maintained. The water in the shower didn't drain which was disgusting after showering there two days (we stayed almost 1 week). The toilet doesn't flush everything....The windows are not tight at all so you get mosquito visits all the time.
Staff is very nice and cute. They were always around and helpful.
