Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLaundry was most expensive throughout my time in brazil. No toilet roll in bathrooms. Not many showers/toilets for the the number of people staying. Every morning you had to wait around for the bathroom.
Lockers, and enough room to place your bag somewhere. Room wasnt too hot.

South AfricaThe bedsheets are old and torn, the beds are always making noise every time people move on their beds. The air-conditioning is poor and old. Only 3 toilets and two bathrooms in the entire building, that has like two buildings in the compound. Very tiny kitchen for everyone with one stove and one fridge, the cameras are everywhere but they're so useless because your items are stolen in front of the cameras even with your names written on them and you report to the people working their and they won't do nothing. Their job is just for them to confirm you have bookings with them when you get there and if you want to buy what they're selling at the reception, to sell and take money. That's all they are there to do, any other thing doesn't concern them. People in the room mostly smelling, I was tolerating that for the first two days until they brought a guy that a moving train 🚉 is nothing compared to his heavy snoring and farting every time. Disturbing the entire nights with his destructive snoring then during the day he watches YouTube and tiktok videos, play music loudly without 🎧 earphones. I complained about him many times but the workers did nothing about it until one day another foolish lady also came to check in, instantly she started same loud volume video watching of a thing. I told her nicely not to do that and showed her to read it on the wall also that such behaviour is not allowed and I even used Google translate to tell her in her language which is Portuguese. She went down to the reception, I don't know what she told them. After some minutes, the lady who happened to be their boss came to ask me speaking Portuguese and I used Google translate to explain to her and the previous issues I've been having there.
The location is not bad.

BrazilThe first room I was put in didn't have lockers. It was packed with giant bags luggage from other guests which made it difficult for me to even get in and out of bed. The beds were metal and would make loud noises to any movement at all, which made it borderline impossible for me to sleep on night 1. And the smell, oh my goodness. I can't begin to describe how awful the stench in that room was - it absolutely reeked, to the point where I had to rub menthol on my nostrils so I could bear it. It was also apparently a staff room, not a guest room considering that when I complained at the front desk the guy (I forgot his name) apologized profusely, said he'd provide feedback for the gentleman sleeping on the lower bunk and mentioned that this was "his first week with the hostel", and switched me to an actually clean and usable room the next day. Much like any hostel, they have set hours for absolute silence in the premises, but this wasn't respected by guests or enforced by staff. Luckily I always bring earplugs with me, but still. This was a very disappointing experience. I'm well-used to staying in hostels all around the world, so while I didn't really expect much comfort, the bare minimum of cleanliness and respect was to be expected for a paying guest.
The night shift staff guy was very friendly and helpful in solving a major issue I experienced on my first night.
