Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyMiss shelfs by bed and bathrooms, as it is no space for your personal stuff at the bunk bed, also curtains would be nice, to have a bit private space in share rooms.
Personal is excellent, was really nice and helpful. It is party hotel, so if you like party, don't hesitate. Location is nice, you are on the beach and if you like to go surf it is perfect spot as beach is just few meters. City center is bit far, so if you want to go for a dinner out you need to go by uber or bike. Rooms are ok, would be nice some shelfs on bunks bed, because it is any space for your stuff and curtains would be good, as the party goings on. I had a good time there and met some nice people. If you want a socialize, it is perfect place.

GermanyParty games the hostel organizes are fun but they seem to mainly boost sales of the bar and this kind of push to me felt a bit unpleasant.
Very nice party hostel with a great atmosphere, I like the ofuró bath hangouts in the evening! Wonderful location right at the beach.

GermanyThe rooms are really basic, there is no privacy at all. During the night it would also get really hot in the rooms as there was no air condition. The kitchen could be better equiped as well as there is no space to just lay down in the hostel, like a hammock or something. Overall it is a nice hostel however for the high price you would expect more.
The staff was super nice and also the events they planned for every night. The hot tub is great as well.

United StatesLocation is far from city, life and restaurants. At night there is nothing around the hostel. Hostel parties and drinks are expensive. Certainly not Latin America's or Brazil's best hostel by any close margin.
There might be good parties and activities that the volunteer staff help to facilitate

NetherlandsWhile this is a fine place to stay for a few nights, the price and the quite avarage beach it’s on do not really justify the hype they try to create. We couldn’t shake that the aim seems to be to squeeze a lot of money out of you - among others by a service fee on credit card payments (from 5% standard, up to 20% for tours). We found the famous Saturday night party a bit disappointing; not a ‘hostel party’ but just 20-30 locals watching a rock cover band in a high school prom setting. Asking guests who want to join to pay a cover charge is understandable, but some who weren’t interested, were more or less ‘forced’ into this, by switching off the lights and close the bar in the common area of the hostel (one you already paid for to stay in, remember). Our main problem is that we found €60 per night for the room (with shared bathroom) too much: terrible mattrass and pillow, no ac, noisey fan, shelves coming off the walls, multiple broken powerplugs, dirty stained walls, etc. We assumed it was a ‘high demand’ thing but the hostel wasn’t full at all. We expected a bit more.
Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful - they seem to remember everyones name, which is nice - and they really try to get you involved. The hostel organizes a lot of activities. Our shared bathroom was kept clean quite well. There is a nice social atmosphere among guests in the common area. There is nice sea views from the upstairs decks.

FranceAll events organized by the hostel are not free. The impression is that events are organized more to get money from guests than to bring people together. The hostel is far from the center of Ubatuba, where most of coffee places and restaurants are, but close to a busy typical beach.
Clean & friendly staff.

ItalyIf overrated was a place…it would be this! GRINGO HOUSE(Americans loooove this place) 9.4 for this hostel?really?i think people never travelled in their life to evaluate this place so high.this place deserves a 7.5. FAR AWAY FROM EVERYTHING(town is 30 minutes walking this means UBER TO GO ANYWHERE,bus station far,no shops,no supermarkets, just a muddy brown water beach. GRINGO HOSTEL TOURIST TRAP(one of those places where they want you to spend all your money in there, you can’t bring alcohol in…this means if you want to have a bottle of wine…forget it!the girl at the reception looked at my olive oil bottle just like a policewoman…and i had to show her…no worries is not alcohol…by the way.fine is 40 DOLLARS if you bring alcohol in. They have 2 pages of house rules where they say they’ll be using your email for marketing…didn’t like…so i gave a fake email. TV IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH (music is on 16 hours a day) front tv sofa is broken 90 REAIS=20 USD OVERPRICED . Next day i got a hostel in the center for 50 reais, NO SLEEP TILL 3:30-4:00 A.M if your plan is to sleep to recover for next day activities….forget it. The guy at the reception told me that on Friday there was no party…ahahah nothing against it. But he was lying. Party ended at 4:00 Am MATTRESS is hard and enclosed in a weird pee/liquids proof plastic like protector. That makes it uncomfortable. There’s a door on the first floor just at the side of the purple room that STINKS no idea what that was. A girl told me that smells reminded her wet sox after a week hiking. IT’S A PARTY HOSTEL WHERE THEY TRY TO SQUEEZE PEOPLE MONEY(not backpackers…real backpackers don’t go to this places…backpackers travel with a backpack not a suitcase) This is just a suggestion from a 43 years old backpacker(20 years around the world)
Room is big, bright, balcony with a nice view over a brown water beach, bunk bed is made of 2 beds… normally in brazil is always 3.

SpainThe location is really bad. In front of the beach, yeah, but with no places to have breakfast around, bars or nice beaches. You need to take Uber for everything. Far from the bus, far from the city, far from the nice beaches, far from everywhere. The lady at the reception defined it as "we are in the perfect location". Unbelievable 😅
