I did my checkin at 2am, the guy didn’t go upstairs to show me the room and it happened that he sent me to the wrong one so I woke up another guest Another time I got a full interrogation when I got back at night and I had to negotiate 20min a discount I already had for extending You have to do your bed yourself even in the private rooms The ac wasn’t functioning for the 1st night It’s clean but kind of old and there’s no vibe Breakfast is ok

The showers and toilets are definitely in need of some repairs and updates. Super small, no place to hang your stuff, doors that can't be locked. Just some basic repairs would already help improve the facilities a lot.

In general a decent place at a good location in town.

Noisy in certain rooms, we one triple room for a double room. The second was noisy, the first one extremely calm.

It’s a nice hostel. The triple room was spacious enough. The space is overall clean, though could be cleaner. Very good breakfast.

People at the reception are not welcoming nor smiling most of the time. This experience didn't match with all the rest of people in the city who're always smiling and paying attention to your needs. The noise has been very hard to cope with, especially on the last night, and there were people singing in the hostel itself very late at night (I don't know if someone was at the reception to control this but the singing went on for a while). I couldn barely sleep and so I'm not sure I would recommend the place.

Breakfast was very complete although I didn't feel it was clean the way to offer it to the public. Location was perfect but if you want to sleep it's not a good option because you have plenty of open air concerts going on around the hostel and room are not isolated.

i have been staying at hostel larangeiras for the past 10 years or so , and it hasn't renewed itself in all that time. I think it could use some work to get the faucets and showers fixed up , nothing major but it will make it feel less of a budget place. probably add some fan or airflow on the laundry area to allow clothes to dry faster.

The price is great with a very convenient location if you need to stay near the pelourinho. i really appreciate the breakfast, and the personnel in general are very nice and helpful.

Not so silent. There's music in the streets but it ends before midnight. Plus: Our ensuite bathroom bedroom was near the common men toilets, separated by a wall, and there's a little open gap between the top of the wall and the roof. We were unlucky because during one of the nights we were woken up by screaming unpolite guests. Plenty of stairs to climb, not a problem for us, just useful information to know.

Located in the heart of Pelourinho, (we found this area not unsafe as somebody told, you just need to wear very basic). This hostel looks graceful, it's located in a historical building and there's a little common patio inside. Helpful staff, they can suggest tours and tips. Breakfast was ashtoning: rich and authentic. The've got security at the door during the night. Correct price.

Lack of hot water. The room I was staying in was directly above an outdoor smoking area. That’s an issue the operators really should’ve thought about before I complained about it. It’s noisy, which I expected. I really wish all Brazilian toilets had a bidet or bidet attachment. My room was dark.

It was walking distance from the cultural center where I was attending a conference. It was clean. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful and efficient about addressing complaints. I didn’t take advantage of this because I didn’t notice it until late, but guests can purchase tickets to tours and local activities at the front desk. Lots of light in the cafe downstairs. WiFi surprisingly was available throughout the building, including rooms.

This time we had a bad room - humidity and fungus spreading in walls made breathing for my wife nearly impossible, part of wall came down. Good think - we got a different room immediately when mentioning.

There is kitchen but it is really tiny. But if you stay only 1-2 nights, it’s okay.

Its location is just 2 blocks away from the main square of the historic center. We stayed in the private room so it was a good stay. The breakfast was really good, including some fruits as well.

Wifi in the dorms could be better but works well on the landing. It can be very noisy at night but things seem to calm down after 2300/midnight.

This was my second stay - definitely a better option in Salvador than many others. I would stay again.

2 of the toilets had no curtains facing the outside so it feels a bit exposed. Wifi wasn't reliable in the dorm but worked well on the landing.

This was the third hostel I tried in 24 hours and I was so glad to finally find a place with attentive staff, clean rooms and a great location. Don't be put off by the pictures of the dorms on here, the rooms are very clean and you get fresh linen at check-in. The female dorm with fan was great, beds were comfy and room was bright. There was a bit of an issue with where to put large suitcases/backpacks but otherwise it was great. There are secure lockers for valuables outside the room. I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely clean, ideally situated in wonderful Pelourinho and with police presence around all the time. Staff is super friendly, they even upgraded us to a better room with private bathroom. Breakfast is good.
