Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Property was somewhat run down and due to renovations the restaurant and hot tub were closed and there was no notification given.

There were some renovations happening while I was there that was quite noisy during the day, and the restaurant was not open.
An older property but a nice water view. Nothing fancy but completely functional.

We have stayed before at this hotel and one reason is they have a restaurant which is great as we don’t have to leave the property in the evening. However when we checked in we were told the restaurant was closed. Had we known this we would have stayed at another location

We were not told the hot tub is out of commission. That was one of the reasons we picked Anchor Inn. After we booked, my wife even asked if “the pool” was open, and was told yes. I guess the person on the phone could have said “yes, but not the hot tub”.
We’ve stayed here several times. Every room has an ocean view and the location is near restaurants and shopping. Value is always good.

Ocean views were awesome and the staff were very friendly. We were the only ones for breakfast the next day and our waitress was so welcoming and sweet. Too bad hot tub out of commission but the pool was nice

The restaurant did not offer any breakfast items other than a very expensive breakfast buffet. There was no option to have only a couple pieces of toast. The buffet cost $15.00 per person. Way too much for what was there. I would have liked to have only a couple pieces of toast for which I was not willing to pay $15. The buffet was not what we wanted so we went to a grocery store and bought our own breakfast items and ate in our room.
The room was satisfactory. It was clean and the view was fantastic.

They advertise continental breakfast which in most places is free, but they charge $15.95 and all they had was cereal, bagels, coffee, and juice. We just got 2 coffee and it was $7.35. I think they need to adjust the price.
Overall a nice, clean hotel. Beautiful ocean view.

The towels are rough and thin. The shower pressure was very weak - not sure if it's because we were on the top floor or because of the particular shower head. Changing the type of water flow on the shower head didn't help.
Oh, we love the view. We were initially placed on the 5th floor, overlooking a rooftop, so we asked to be moved to a better view. We appreciate the location of the hotel in the town - it's close to our family, the pier, and stores. The seal around our balcony door was tested in a HUGE wind and rain storm on our last night there! It pounded all night long against those windows and there was no leaking. :)

No green or grass areas for pets unless you walk up a steep hill which isn’t practical for my dogs 4 am per break.
The ocean views are amazing and it’s cool to watch the ferries come and go. The hotel was only a few minutes from a large number of restaurants and hiking areas.

The shower controls are not great the fixtures are old and very hard to regulate the temperature.
Beds were very comfortable, there is a bar fridge in the room. The cast was very reasonable.

The lift only went to certain floors, which we did not know beforehand.
The room with a great view, very comfortable bed, good bathroom & toiletries. The restaurant was good with friendly, helpful staff & good food. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. The swimming pool was very good.
