Good check in and perfect for our passing thru. Breakfast was plentiful altho it would have been nice to have pancakes but machine was turned off. Not a biggy really but no one there to get help from.

Staff smoking near the front doors. We stayed 2 x within a week, driving to Vancouver and back to Edmonton, and both times, staff happened to have smoke breaks while we were loading our luggage into our car. Smoking should be done far away from the front doors. My spouse has lung issues, and smoking near our vehicle was not appreciated.

Variety of hot foods and cold breakfast. Staff kept food stations full. I didn't like seeing staff filling their plates with food while we ate. I have no problem with staff being able to eat left over hot food so it doesn't go to waste, however, this should be done discreetly.

Our room was chilly given the season and we had to rely on noisy a/c units in heat mode to warm up the room. Surprised that a nearly new hotel didn’t have better heating and more focus on energy conservation. Breakfast was very much a selection of ultra processed food and masses of single use plastic with no recycling even for paper plates. I understand labour shortages but Best Western are a large chain that can and should be doing more for energy conservation, recycling and unnecessary plastic usage.

We had an extremely spacious suite in immaculate condition, well fitted out and with a lovely comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and there was an excellent restaurant within easy walking distance.

There was the smell of smoke in the room, possibly due to local fires or lumber mills. It was a sleep distraction. The constantly running bathroom fan was too noisy and the climate control system was also noisy. The breakfast bar needs bananas.

The room was quiet and dark and well appointed. Wi fi and cable were good and the location was perfect to break our trip length.

The person at the reception had no idea about what to see/visit around and about the falls...that sounds really weird for an hotel called «gateway to the falls» full of tourists ... the breakfast was quite disappointing in terms of quality, with plastic plates and forks...

Check in. First time I have to wait in reception 10 mins before someone appeared to check us in. Not that the reception was busy but the lady was outside smoking taking a break so could see we were waiting and other staff that was coming or going never said anything or hello or you waiting to check in or anything. The lady that eventually came to check us in never said sorry for waiting or anything similar just a flat 'Are you checking in'. We actually saw this happen to another couple the same day when we went out for dinner.
