Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The shower doors are NOT user friendly. There is no way to warm or test the water before getting blasted with cold water. The shower head is not reachable and therefore not adjustable. Left me with a very cold chill.

You have to request the staff to clean your room, they don't do it automatically.
Very wide variety of food for breakfast. Staff were very kind and understanding.

Would preferred homemade jam or marmalade. Also a shower w/o tub. The following day however, we were moved to a suite, same floor and have a shower only. Thankyou

The room had no closet or place to hang clothes and the shower had no body wash.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff very nice.

Coffee maker in room doesn't make good coffee !! When we got in our room it was freezing in there Air conditioning was left on !!! Not Enough Movie Channels on TV !!!

If you’re going to offer breakfast, please make sure that you have food there. They had one person operating the breakfast, and she could not keep up. There was no eggs or sausages whatsoever. Call it a continental breakfast because all they had was toast, cereal, and waffles. The property on the outside needs to be taken care of. I don’t think the windows have been cleaned since the hotel opened. The windows were pretty dirty with massive cobwebs on the outside and full of bugs. To pay $300 for a night in a small town is a bit pricey. On top of that I had to pay an extra $45 dog fee. I don’t mind paying a dog fee I just think $45 is it on the higher end ? The conditioning in the room was extremely loud and kept us up all night. I appreciate having this hotel in the area, but I think they can do better in keeping the property up to par especially for what they charge

I would upgrade the fitness center by adding one more treadmill.
Overall very well maintained facility, with very professional staff. The room was spacious and perfectly clean, with confortable queen beds and a large, modern bathroom. The indoor pool is a strong plus, just as large as it can be. A small 24h fitness center is also available. Breakfast was just perfect: omelette & sausage, plenty of sweet options including a waffle maker, and an adequate number of tables. A great choice to spend a few days in a small but wonderful town like Goderich and visit the beautiful East coast of Lake Huron.

It’s a newer building, so everything is very modern. Good breakfast to start the day. Close to the downtown square (a 10-minute walk max) and conveniently located to highways heading out of town either north or west.

There was a someone's used sock under the bed. They charged too much extra money for my dogs.
