Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Booking.com charged me 414.60 CAD when I booked but upon check in, I was charged 418.22 CAD by the hotel. It is just a small difference but it was just weird that the amount I booked with was not the same one i was charged by the hotel and when I asked why, the staff could not explain the reason.
The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good even if there were only few choices. The omelet and sausage were tasty. Their coffee was also good. Checking in and checking out was fast. Staff were nice. Location is also great because it is close to restaurants, groceries, the beach, and the downtown area.

Nothing - it met my expectation and was very clean
The location is perfect if you want to walk around Goderich. Brand new hotel, what you would expect from Comfort Inn and suites. Room was big, and clean. Bed was comfortable, didn't use the pull out sofa. TV was Satellite, had hundreds of channels. Breakfast was what you expect at any Choice hotel. Eggs, breads, bagels, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, sausage.

Internet was so so. There was no Toilet Bowl Brush and Caddy.
Exceptionally clean, staff was very nice! Free breakfast of good quality. Parking is in front of Hotel. The electric charging could be done from both sides of a bed in any way! The hotel is close to downtown.

The TV was difficult to use and there was not a lot of selection when I got it to work.
This hotel was so clean and quiet! My bed was so comfortable. The pool was clean and a great temperature. Breakfast was good! Great value for money!

The AC/heating unit is a bit noisy, but you can always just switch it off. The walls are very thin, but we didn’t have a noisy neighbour so it didn’t really impact our stay.
We only stayed for one night on our short visit to Goderich. The bed was super comfortable, the room was clean, the bathroom huge. There was a decent selection of food and beverages for breakfast, everything tasted great and I really appreciated the availability of decaf coffee. There is plenty of parking in front of the hotel and the hotel itself is conveniently located.

There was a strong smoke smell in the hallway which was a bit uncomfortable.
The rooms were comfortable with good sound proofing making it beautifully quiet. Thebreakfast was great and the staff were very friendly.

The TV wasn't working. We appreciated that the manager fixed it, but unfortunately the next time we turned it on it was the same problem of no signal. The manager mentioned that they had just switched to a different provider and were trying to work out the glitches.
The lighting in the room was very good. There were bedside lamps on both bedside tables and a good lamp on the desk. All the lamps had chargers and plugs. The breakfast choices were good with hot sausages and omelettes as well as a waffle maker.

Wish the pool was open....that was one of the reasons I picked the hotel the rate was a little high for the room.swimming pool was green and they shut it down on our second day :(
