Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lovely room with a great view. Love that the hotel was connected to the skywalk. Restaurant was really nice. I liked all aspects of my stay.

Airport shuttle would be helpful and expected at a Marriott property.
Wonderful location for taking a tour with Banff to go. Clean, friendly and easy to find.

The smell in the elevators and lobby and restaurant was way too strong. It was a perfume smell and too intense. I am an asthmatic and it made me cough.

Being on floor 16. Probably not possible but to be given a choice on the floor would have been ideal. This is just a personal thing as i'm scared of heights. Parking. Be careful where you park as the ceilings are low unless you park in over size. I had a Grand Jeep Cherokee and parked on level 3 after being told it was OK, opened the boot and it hit the ceiling
Good location for the city. The room was very good, comfortable, clean and tidy with good Wi-Fi. The sky walk linking the buildings is very good and keeps you off the roads

We were in room 709. We had lovely views of the river. On arrival we were helped to take luggage to the room which was really appreciated. The room was very well equipped with tasty coffee, comfy beds, lovely shower, lots of flannels/towels and free toiletries and we could even open the windows which is not always the case. Despite being next to the Fire Station we didn't get bothered by the sound. The bar/restaurant, Shoe and Canoe has an excellent menu - I really enjoyed the trout! You can pay the hotel for parking overnight.

There were two beds and two of us staying, but there was only 1 caffeinated coffee and 1 decaf coffee, so one of us had to had decaf in the morning. Please have more than 1 of each if there are two beds!
Beautiful property. Very clean. Great location in downtown Calgary. Easy to walk to Stephen street for dinner. We had a car and the parking was very easy. We also got the breakfast which was delicious. A very quiet hotel too!

We missed our connecting flight from Denver to Calgary due to storms in Denver and we found contacting the hotel extremely difficult. Must have tried over a dozen times to ring the hotel and kept getting an answering service that kept disconnecting us from reception. Finally got through at approx 11.30pm to advise them not to give our room away as we were staying 2 nights. Very frustrated by the time we got through to reception.
Hotel location was good. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Enjoyed our dining experience in the hotel.

Would have preferred solid door rather than glass in bathroom. When someone got up to go the toilet in the middle of the night the whole room lit up.
Great down town location. Easy to walk around the sites, Uber very easy to use, great rooms, bed and facilities.

Even though we were on the 18th floor, the traffic noise was pretty loud sometimes. I didn't find anything else to dislike.
The location was very convenient. The room was large and spacious. Housekeeping did an excellent job and were quite friendly

Nothing really worth to mention
Its been great value for the price. Central location just few steps to the very nice relax area and parks along the river and not more than 10 min walk to the 8th Ave which ist the heart of public life with plenty of bars and restaurants. Hotel is nice, clean, well equipped, rooms are spacious, staff is helpful and very attentive.
