Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe bed was comfortable, but too high for a short person to be able to easily get into it. Otherwise, the room was great and the shower worked perfectly and lots of hot water.
Location was great and close to my medical appointment Location.

CanadaNo running water or sink in the kitchen area made it difficult to deal with breakfasts. The bathroom in our room was EXTREMELY small. I had to go out to change my mind. Never met anyone who worked there at anytime, just the other guest so no way to ask questions etc.
Great location!

CanadaThe building is historical, so it is old. The sink in the bathroom was tiny. There was a mice, but that happens in such buildings. I was told it’s quite a common issue in houses in St. John’s.
Great location. They also provide some staples for breakfast: bread, peanut butter, cereals, yoghurts, tea and coffee. The staff is very helpful and accommodated my extra request.

United StatesThe facility feels "tired" For example. the desk was marred, the sink cracked, the stairwell carpet old and wrinkled. The room was acceptable and clean, but very tight in terms of space.

CanadaThe bathroom was a little bit cramped, which is understandable since it was probably added in for the purpose of creating the guesthouse. The sink was so small and very close to the wall with the mirror slightly in the way, so washing hands and brushing teeth was a little awkward. Also, the sink blocked the toilet a little, so there is very little space to sit on the toilet.
Amazing location, coffee, lots of tea options, and some self-serve breakfast options. Parking provided. Staff allowed us to keep our luggage in the common area after our check out since we had a later flight.

CanadaThe water was not drained properly in the bath (very very slowly), after a shower of a couple of minutes, I had water up to the ankles, which I hate and stopped me from taking a shampoo :(. There is no staff on the property, I texted the number I was given but no one bothered to answer me. Because a mobile AC unit was installed in the window, it was not hermetic, so we could hear very well the noise coming from the street, fortunately it's not a too busy street but still... Very very soft mattress...
Basic but good location, 10 min walk from Water street and its restaurants. No issue to find parking in the street. We didn't take it, but they provide basic self-service breakfast which can be nice. Easy check-in following the received instructions.

CanadaI had trouble with the email provided on the booking.com link. I was trying to confirm parking and never received a response. Fortunately, it worked out…but the “non response” created some concern.
Great quiet location within walking distance of shopping, a variety of restaurants and pubs. Started each morning with a fresh pot of coffee. Options for a lite breakfast were available with options for a more substantial breakfast just a couple of blocks away. Given the limited parking in the area, having access to free parking near the quest house was a bonus. While the temperatures were fairly mild, we did have to use the AC once to cool the room down at the end of the day.

CanadaReaching the owner/manager of the premises by text or phone was very difficult. Our flight was delayed by one day and we would have liked to have a quicker response to our questions. Responsiveness needs to improve in case of last minute demands. Furthermore, the room could benefit a little revamping.
It is perfectly located in colorful St.John's close to many restaurants and the fishing port. Great value for the price paid. The rooms are confortable and spacious. The self serve kitchen on the first floor is convenient.

CanadaThe sink/toilet washroom was EXTREMELY tiny and even hard to use by normal sized adults. The worn leather loveseat was disgusting to the point of disuse and tainted the overall appearance of the room on entry. It should be replaced/removed! The bed sheets were well-worn and had several small holes.
The location of the property was superb, only blocks from George St restaurants, clubs and attractions. There was off-street parking available for our use throughout stay. The room was clean, had small refrigerator, and the shower was very good even if somewhat unorthodox being on opposite side of room from toilet/sink. Breakfast was convenient and available to grab and go early each morning, however access to a sink by the kitchen would have been nice to refill ice cube trays and kettle/coffee pot.
