Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaNot a fault of the property, it is an older, boutique style building and the doors/walls aren't soundproofed. But there seems to be an epidemic with travelers in hotels. I've been in so many hotels this past year alone, and it's troublesome how many guests seem to think that they are the only guests of the hotel, on that floor or in that section. They come and go at all hours, carrying on loud conversations and slamming hotel doors behind them. I was woken from my sleep on couple of occasions during my stay (1am and 3:30am). Perhaps adjusting the tension on the doors, if possible, might prevent the insensitive guests from slamming them as they enter and exit might help.
Outstanding staff! Upon check in, during stay, right up to the check out, a pleasure to meet the staff. Very helpful in attending to minor glitches during stay. Made me feel very welcome. I always like having a home away from home, so a kitchenette and all the extra touches (toiletries, robes etc), were most appreciated. A great location to access many points in town by foot or to access public transportation. And an onsite restaurant (but I did not have a chance to try on this occasion).

United StatesEverything was great. There were some movement upstairs above me the second night I was there, but it didn't last too long. It sounded like someone was moving furniture.
The room was magnificent and they accommodated an early check in. The front desk was so warm and friendly and charming. I know where I will stay the next time I come to Montréal.

United StatesNothing, everything was good
The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly, considerate and helpful. They helped me carry my personal luggage to the room upstairs and gave a map of Montréal. There were some recent touristic guides (Routard, Petit Futé…) to consult which helped finding adresses in the city. There is an excellent Ethiopian restaurant right in the hotel downstairs, called Le Nil Bleu. Very good food.

United StatesNothing, I loved the entire experience.
INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE staff! Very friendly and accommodating. The room was small but very cozy and had everything necessary for a 5 night stay. Comfy bed and great bathroom! The restaurant downstairs is delicious and gets quite busy so make a reservation if you're planning to eat in. GREAT location, not overly touristy you get a real sense of the local culture and lifestyle. Very walkable to lots of places of interest. Great value would definitely stay here again!

United StatesThey inform you clearly there is no elevator. While it’s not a huge problem as there’s four floors max, it can be a challenge for certain people. Again the staff take care of your luggage though so they really help make up for it. Also there is no onsite parking, they offer valet services but there is also a garage very close to hotel on Rue Berri so again not a dealbreaker all, just something to keep in mind.
Amazing hotel room, clean and with all the amenities one could ask for (we stayed in the penthouse suite, which was quite affordable for being so luxurious). The location is very close to many restaurants and shopping within walking, but also close to the Sherbrooke Metro for further travel. Made it very easy to explore Montréal with using public transit. What really makes this hotel special is the outstanding staff; always willing to help and so friendly and accommodating. They take care of your luggage and inspect the room again before you enter. Everything was pristine!

United StatesSome people may complain about the lack of elevators at the property, but the hotel offers assistance 24/7 to move your bag up and down the stairs. I certainly didn't mind as honestly I can use the exercise that going up and down stairs provides. I found the TV a little difficult to figure out, but really don't spend much time watching.
The people at this hotel and also the restaurant work very hard to make you feel at home and are always asking if you need anything and offering coffee. The cleaning staff is also very thorough and hard working. Le Nil Bleu which is the associated restaurant serves high quality Ethiopian Cuisine. The flavors brought back the good memories of my time in East Africa in neighboring Sudan, and they have full understanding of the challenges that nations face in that part of the world. They also have umbrellas available for clients in rainy weather. They are also ready with suggestions on how to make your daily adventures run smoothly with local transit options.

United StatesI was greeted at the door by Adam, who was very friendly. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. There are plenty of great little shops and restaurants close to the hotel. I felt very safe in my room and when I walked back to the hotel by myself after dark. This was one of my favorite places to stay in. I would definitely recommend it!

CanadaI usually can think of something but in this case I cant.
We stayed one night. There was a small mix up with our bags so we were upgraded to a larger room. Everything was exceptional. Large room with very modern facilities. Comfortable bed. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - thank you. We had a supper delivered to our room from the adjoining restaurant - Le Nil Bleu - which was very tasty and well presented. The valet service worked well. Would liked to have stayed longer.

CanadaThe room had a kitchenette but the dishes and pots were a bit limited (e.g. no bowls, small pot, dishcloth). Of the two windows, one didn't open and the other had no screen (especially important since it was next to a balcony that was very popular with squirrels).
Complimentary upgrade to a room with more features. Friendly staff. Kitchenette. Nice view for the location. Great location, close to the metro and the many attractions of the Plateau. Nice decorating scheme that sets it apart from many other hotels that look the same inside.

United StatesI was ok with it, but there is no elevator and I was on the 4th floor...I got a lot of good exercise, but this could be an issue for some. The staff helped me with my luggage, so that wasn't an issue. Although there was a stovetop and the staff got it to work, I never could. I was fine and just used the microwave. Had a nice espresso shot machine, but without any instructions. Once staff educated me, it was fine. Lastly, the shower was very "high tech", again without instructions. I figured it out, but not without a few good sprays of water in my face!!! The tub was a luxury, BUT, there are no "handles" or "safety bars". The tub is VERY deep and hard to step into. In addition, the shower/tub window/glass, does not slide, it connects directly to the wall, so you can't control the shower by sliding the door, you have to stand in the tub to control the shower. As an able senior, I was o.k., but for some this might have been quite daunting. All in all though, I loved my bath and shower!
The room was exceptional. I asked for an early check-in and they not only accommodated my request, but upgraded my room in order to do so. The staff was UNBELIEVABLE....friendly, helpful, joyful. The view from the room was amazing, I had a patio, as a bonus. It was SO quiet. Walking distance from the Metro, great eateries and close to where my workshop was located. The hotel is connected to a delicious Ethiopian restaurant and the Ethiopian hotel furnishings were exceptional. Room had a microwave, frig, sink and all required dishes, pans, cups, etc.

United StatesShower curtain around the jacuzzi tub didn't catch all the spray from the shower.
What a wonderful place to stay in a fabulous walkable neighborhood close to the subway. We were greeted warmly by Nassir (sp) and Adam who were always available to help. The suite was huge and had all the amenities. We were upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi tub which was lovely. When we left to go for a walk on a drizzly day, Nassir ran after us with umbrellas. The staff friendly, professional and looked after you with genuine care. Make sure you try the restaurant downstairs. One of the highlight meals of the trip!
