I can't think of a single negative thing to mention. We loved everything about this hotel and feel so lucky to have found this gem!

A truly wonderful stay! The room was perfect with a wonderful view of the park across the street where we could watch ice skating. This is hands down the absolute cleanest room I have ever stayed in. It was impeccably clean!!!! The breakfast was wonderful and the helpful, kind service started our day off perfectly every morning. The hotel is within walking distance to all of the major sites in Old Town and was only steps from the path of the winter carnival parade route. Be sure to stop into the small bakery/cafe around the corner for a treat or sandwiches during your stay. We would 100% stay here again. Perfect!

Personally I wasn’t too bothered by it, but it’s an old historic building so the walls are thin and you can hear some of the traffic in the hallway.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The room was beautiful with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast. Can’t wait to return!

Nothing not to like.

Manoir de l'Esplanade has become our "go to" hotel for visits to Quebec City and we've now stayed there several times. The location is perfect - just inside the old city wall and convenient to all of the sites in addition to being within walking distance of the various restaurants and shops outside the walls. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. All of this makes Manoir an excellent value for its very reasonable cost. We have no need to look anywhere else for our future visits.

Having booked a "budget"/smaller room, knowing we would not spend much time in the room, I did fall victim to an "upsell" pitch upon check-in, that increased my room rate by $82 each night. Granted the larger room, more of a suite, was super nice, however not necessary. Had we gotten the suite at more of a last minute discount, and not the advertised price, I might have felt "special" and a bit better about the "upsell". For example, "due to a cancellation, our best room became available. We can offer it to you at a special rate". That would have created customer "WOW". In the end, we really enjoyed Hôtel Manoir de l'Esplanade. San and his family were fantastic, and made us feel welcomed. You have to admire a family run business that has survived and thrived since 1981! Beware of excessive Canadian taxes. There is sales tax, lodging tax and some other tax that adds a total of 20% to your final bill. There is also a $19 daily parking fee, that is imposed by the city, which should be gratis for anyone spending money lodging in the city. This is all beyond the control of hotel owners, but visitors may need to consider this additional expense when shopping for a room. Again, Hôtel Manoir de l'Esplanade is a super place staffed with wonderful people!

Having visited Quebec City on a regular basis since 1968 this was my first time at Hôtel Manoir de l'Esplanade. The location is outstanding, the family run hotel is well cared for and the breakfast is very good! The staff is attentive and friendly and it is clear that the family take pride in the business.

Bathroom was quite small/small stand up shower but it was still great! They definitely made the most with the space they had!

Very helpful and friendly staff, easy check in. Room was so cozy and the exposed stone and brick was to die for. Great location for walking Grande Allée and into the downtown core. Lots of amazing restaurants in the neighbourhood! I will absolutely be back :)

The bathroom door was a sliding door and was difficult to keep closed. Coffee make in the room did not work but great coffee at breakfast.

Service was superb, one of the best I would say! I wasn’t able to get his name but the asian gent at the reception was very approachable and accommodating. He made sure that we were always comfortable and have been really helpful throughout our stay. Kudos to him for being above and beyond! I would like to thank him for everything and wasn’t able to because when we returned i think his shift ended already. I would also like to add that the hotel was well kept and very comfortable, our room is very clean and has all the necessary equipment we needed for our 3 night stay. It has been a wonderful experience and we’ll surely book here again on our next visit!
