Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe have both decided that we do not like Nespresso machines of the type used by most of our stays in Quebec province. Difficult to use, wasteful (pods got ruined by machine) and we didn't love the coffee
The man at the front desk ran out to help us with our suitcases upon arrival. He was one of the owners, who also manned the front desk. They were welcoming and efficient. We were two older friends traveling together, so the elevator was very helpful. Our room was huge - it was actually a suite with a separate bathroom and sitting room. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet, and they brought coffee pods each day, a must for my friend. Hotel was clean and staff was all helpful and friendly. No breakfast room or service, which I would like, but there was a room right inside entrance with tea and hot chocolate and hot water. The location was awesomeand close to so many restaurants as well as convenient to all of the sights in the old city we wanted to see!

United StatesThe room had a few quirks which were in no way a deal breaker for me, and in fact were part of the charm, but some people might find annoying. The floor was slightly sloped in places. The bathroom sink was rather high - I am 5’8” and felt like I was reaching up or standing on my toes to wash my hands. The toilet, on the other hand, seemed rather low. The room temperature was fine, but not sure if I could control it, and not sure exactly where the heat was coming from - it wasn’t the radiator under the window. And there was a fake electric fire place in the room - rather kitchy, but I turned it on anyway :)
Excellent location, wonderful staff, lovely room, and breakfast included - what more could you want? Some of the things I thought might be issues after reading the reviews were not problems at all - there was an elevator up to the room, the shower was great, and I had a pretty nice view of the city from the window in my room (see photos). Plenty of options to choose from at breakfast, and they were generous with the coffee and cappuccinos.

United StatesI would have liked to know that the room was really better suited for 1 than 2 before I paid. but it tuned out to be an adequate bed, if not spacious and certainly comfortable. I also would have preferred the shower to not face the door but the back,as I like to turn on the shower before I get in to be sure of the correct temperature. I got the floor soaked!
The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. The room had a great view. The room was small and they only confirmed, correctly that it would be more suitable for 1 than 2 after I had booked, but nonetheless it had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The front desk was especially friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. Oh and the chocolates in the parlor were a lovely touch!

United StatesHotel Manoir de l'Esplanade is a small but well-appointed hotel that is centrally located just inside the walls of old Quebec City. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to virtually all of the old city and dozens of restaurants as well as shops, galleries and scenic views. The staff is very pleasant and efficient and the rooms charming with exposed stone and brick. Even though it is at the corner of two well-traveled streets, it is also quiet. Underground parking is located across the street, just a short walk from the hotel. Overall, it is a great place to stay in Quebec, and a great value. We would definitely stay there again.

United StatesThere is nothing I can think of to improve the experience. All good.
Lovely room, very comfortable bed, clean, small fridge, nice bathroom (with tub). Very helpful staff-- when our car battery was dead after a week in the parking garage, the staff called a mechanic to come jump the battery and it was all very timely, no problem, they were extremely helpful. The breakfast was extensive and served safely and well. No hot eggs or homefries, but nearly everything else (fresh fruit, pastries, small mini-quiches, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, etc)
