We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaThe owner might be extremely frugal and is trying to be maximizing profits by neglecting necessary repairs and renovations. Double doors to the hallway where the room was located proved very difficult to open from the inside. All doors and walls are in bad shape. Key cards were scanned correctly but wouldn't open the room. The washroom door wouldn't shut unless pushed and pulled very labourously. Spider cobwebs outside, such as around the metal stairs were a mess. Lots of potential for improvement but cheap owner/management.

United Kingdomstaff were pretty rude at check in, basically threw the keys at us and sent us on our way without even any indication of where our rooms would be. Didn’t explain breakfast timings, where the pool is or how to access the wifi - all things we then had to go back and ask about. you essentially get what you pay for with this place. other customers also extremely loud at all hours of the night and will wake you up, thin walls so you can hear what’s going on with your neighbours and the bathrooms are very dated. we extended out checkout by an hour and were interrupted twice by staff trying to enter the room whilst we were resting. they also let themselves in!

CanadaThe room and bathroom were dirty, the employees are in bad moods. I asked employees where I could get ice and no one could answer me. When I arrived at the hotel, I wanted to go in the swimming pool but they had private lessons which meant that we didn't have access. I went to reception to inquire about private lesson times and no one knew about it.
