Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe inability to have a coffee or tea before 7a.m. With no in-room coffee service, the take away counter could have been open earlier than 11 a.m.
The ambience, the wonderful smell of the hotel, the heritage elements and historical associations incorporated throughout the hotel, and the museum.

This place is truly something special. There is a warm and soothing energy that engulfs you as soon as you arrive. The staff is lovely, the guided tour was a delightful bonus and the breakfast was great quality. I would absolutely stay here again. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge.

CanadaI was looking forward to attend mass in the chapel, but unfortunately, the priest did not attend during my stay due to snowstorms.
The food was great, the place is really beautiful and the location is amazing. Also I appreciated learning about the history of the Monastere and the Augustine sisters. Would definitely recommend it to any friend that visits Quebec city!

CanadaSupper was buffet style and it kept me coming back from Maure with only healthy options. I also participated in the 5 PM movement class, which is not to be missed and actually gave me energy for the rest of the week! It was awesome.

United StatesLoved everything.
It was a unique accommodation and off the beaten path, however, close enough to shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again and again. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the city/town and such a quiet and comfortable stay. The food was absolutely amazing and really added a nice touch to our stay. The breakfast was exceptional.

CanadaThe mattress was soft and needing rotation.
We liked the aesthetics of the 400 year old monastery, the atmosphere, and the large, comfortable rooms. In addition, the friendly staff was very accommodating and the silent breakfast was delicious. The location was close to all attractions. We preferred the authentic rooms to the contemporary rooms because they were roomier, warmer, and more comfortable in general.

CanadaOn this trip, we were able to stay in a contemporary room as well as an authentic room. We enjoyed the authentic room much more as it was roomier, and we loved looking at the 300+ hundred year old paintings as we walked back and forth to the bathroom. The contemporary room was draftier. A wonderful experience. The location was great, walking distance to the Carnaval, Chateau Frontenac , Vieux- ville basse.
We loved the delicious silent breakfast and the accommodating staff.

United StatesStaying at the Monastère des Augustines is like stepping back in time. While here one can experience the history of French tradition in Old Quebec. I found the breakfast in silence to be a wonderful a culinary experience. While perhaps not for everyone, I found the experience to be the perfect way to start your day.

United StatesI think you sacrifice some of the typical hotel things for a more historical/mindful hotel experience like daily room service or ice machines, but that didn’t really bother us- just something to keep in mind! Parking was $25 a day in a lot on the property (limited spots, first come first serve).
Beautiful, fun to stay in a historical building, the beds were super comfy, the robes were great, and the space was beautiful! Staff was kind, helpful, the onsite museum was cool! Breakfast was really delicious (just be aware of the silent part).

United StatesThe bed was much too soft and uncomfortable. I thought small samples of the beauty/wellness products sold in the spa shop would be nice in the rooms. They would be a nice addition to the room as well as a marketing tool for the spa store.
Liked the “vibe”, in keeping with the original healthy mindset of the founding nuns. The quiet space and silent breakfast was a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of most hotels.

JapanThe rooms were cozy but did not include a hot kettle, however hot water was provided from the dining area near the lobby.
The location is quiet and conveniently located, only 10 minutes walk from all the major Quebec City attractions. The room is quaint but incredibly clean and cozy. The breakfast and all other meals combine healthy, nutritious, locally sourced ingredients that are prepared fresh everyday. The staff are wonderful, providing support both in English and French.

United StatesThis unique property is a wonderful quiet haven. Silent, healthy breakfast is a highlight and a visit to the museum is a must. When booking, be aware that you will be sharing a bathroom and shower in a hallway but there was always plenty of showers and toilets while we were there. There are not regular amenities like a regular hotel but that is what makes this space so special. Come for a visit, a retreat or reflection.

United StatesIf you book a single room, ask to be away from the double rooms. People speaking in a normal voice can easily be heard through the walls. In a wonderful place for quiet meditation, those voices are very noticeable.
The breakfast was excellent, lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. Everything was fresh and delicious. The entire property was very clean, including the shared bathrooms. There were sufficient bathrooms that there was never a wait. The location is only a block from rue St Jean in the old town. It is very easy to walk from the monastery's rue Charlesvoix exit.
