Staff were great! Dinner fabulous, and the atmosphere was lovely. Had a great time at dinner, fun energy. So tastefully decorated. The suite on the ocean front was heavenly.

The room was a bit noisy due to thin walls and ceiling but the gorgeousness of the rooms made up for that.

Loved the location and the view. Loved The Bothy restaurant and the live music. Loved the staff and their obvious love of their job.

The only thing I personally didn’t like was the bed firmness, which is personal opinion. The bathrooms are clean and very functional but not yet updated to match the rooms, which I know is the next plan. Don’t let this put you off though!

I was a little confused about whether I had booked the old Point of View or the newly refurbished North Star. It was indeed North Stat and didn’t disappoint! Great location & views, great bar area, little gift shop and lovely accommodation. If you come to louisbourg, eat &/or stay here!

The mattress was very hard and should be upgraded. Its just sad because the bedding and pillows are perfect and feels brand new.

When i booked this place in July , i had no idea it was recently purchased by Colin and Justin and that the name was now “ North Star” . What a surprise when we went to check in and saw Colin there at the reception. When we saw the room with the upgrades ( looking different than the pictures on Booking) we were very pleased. What a nice room with tones of windows looking up to the water . Wow. The site is just perfect with a superb view on the water and pic-nic tables to watch the sunset . We enjoyed a glass of wine there later at night. Restaurant on site was also a pleasant surprise but we could not eat there that night because it was fully booked. However the woman at the reception referred us to another restaurant in town called “ Spoon drift” and we managed to get a table there. Staff was very accommodating because they were also fully booked that night. Food was fantastic. This hotel and restaurant will do fantastic in years to come in this beautiful paradise of Louisbourg , Nova Scotia.

Located on the water. Very spacious room, comfortable bed. There is a restaurant on site--The Bothy, that is very good! We were also able to eat breakfast in the other restaurant.

We did not have breakfast in the restaurant but the dinner at The Bothy was wonderful. Food, service and surroundings were lovely. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable and the convenience of a small kitchenette is great. Above all, the gorgeous view is what truly took my breath away.

Comfortable, beautifully decorated room, facing the water. Very relaxing and that is what we came for. Small, but unique and beautiful waterfront. Wonderful. Fantastic. Unforgettable stay.

It was beautifully decorated with all the latest styles! It was classy without being stuffy or pretentious, therefore still incredibly cozy! The view was breathtaking and the service was warm and inviting. The breakfast the next morning was delicious!

The lower suites echo the footsteps of those above. So we heard loud footsteps most of the evening from upstairs. The supper meals were tasty, but some garlic bread added would enhance it and the prices very high.

Enjoyed the meals, atmosphere and location. Clean, attractive suites.

The lack of isolation from the upper floor made us to be awake from 6pm when the upstairs neighbors started to move. Everything was perfect but this is a real problem if you are hosted on the ground floor.

However, for the price, you should get more food. I the potatoes were very good but I could count on one hand how many were on my plate. I was also given one grape. For $18, I should get more than that. The endless coffee was ended after the first cup since I never got a refill.

Breakfast was very good. We got the seafood Benny. The potatoes had lots of flavour, the salmon was good. The eggs were cooked well.

Room was spacious but did not have any type of dresser for storing clothes. Similarly, bathroom had ample floor space, but vanity was quite small

Location is close to the Fortress and has an excellent view of it across the bay. Restaurant “The Botha” onsite. We were told that renovations are underway to remedy deficiencies mentioned below.

They could use chairs for each balcony or even a little sitting area overlooking the water.

The room was beautiful and the decorations were gorgeous. Colin and Justin not only greeted us but actually served us! Impressive story!
