Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaRocky Mountain Escape is a hidden gem! The lodge, nestled in the remote beauty of Rock Lake Park, offers a perfect retreat into nature. Julia and Gary are incredibly welcoming and make you feel safe and at home in the wilderness. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful hikes, and opportunities to explore nearby lakes make it a fantastic escape. We loved the barbecue evenings, learning to cook on a griddle, and experiencing the wood-burning stove. It was truly a unique and unforgettable stay. Highly recommend this getaway for anyone seeking a serene nature retreat.

ArgentinaIt’s a very remote location without communication services and far from any communities. This was not a fault of the property but something unusual and slightly uncomfortable to experience.
The quality of the amenities, such as cooking utensils, bedding, and towels was very high. Great water pressure, with both hot and cold water. The cabin was completely stocked and prepared with everything guests would need and then some, the hosts had truly thought of everything. The cleanliness was impeccable.

TaiwanNothing!
Highly recommend Rocky Mountain Escape! I was a bit hesitate to choose Rocky Mountain Escape since my original goal was only to stay in Jasper. But after I did it, it's totally worthy with the long drive! The location is just next to rocky lake provincial park, it took us 1-2 hours from Jasper to the cabin and the road was off-road but we did it without 4x4. Julia was very nice to explain the situation and recommend us 4x4 actually. While we stayed there, we learnt how to cook with griddle and we took the trail to enjoy the nature. We also drove to Rocky lake provincial park to see the scenery and bump into over 15 Elks! Gary was very nice to show us how to use wood-burning stove, and it was really a cool experience for us! And also Gary recommended us few trails to see the nice view of the mother nature. This was the best cabin getaway experience I could ever have! Thank you Julia and Gary for such lovely cabin!

GermanyAmazing location of the lodge in the backcountry of Rock Lake Park, a beautiful remote nature park North East of Jasper. The couple who is running the lodge, Julia and Gary, are wonderful people, full of hospitality. They give you the feeling of being welcome and safe in the middle of nature. We loved the hikes, and the lake nearby, barbecue evenings and preparing pancakes in the morning on the griddle in front of the block house.

CanadaThe cleanliness is overwhelming! Not what I expected from a cabin. Cleaner than some five star hotels I’ve stayed in! The owners are amazingly helpful and the serenity is unbelievable! Highly recommend for some peace and quiet! Words just can not describe how beautiful it is. Closest thing to natural wilderness I’ve seen anywhere around jasper or Banff. Will definitely book another stay!!!

CanadaNothing, if you want outdoors this is the place to go.
The cabins are located in the peaceful and stunning Rock Lake Provincial Park and deer or other wildlife are never far away. It offers an amazing base to explore the park and the hosts have great suggestions for trails which are perfectly sign posted and marked. The hosts themselves, Gary and Julia, are excellent. They are always around to make sure you return safely from your adventures, and have great stories to share. The cabin itself is cosy and warm, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. From bathrobes to emergency lights, the hosts have truly thought of everything. We definitely want to come back and explore in summer!

United KingdomNothing - but you should be aware it’s completely off grid! We loved that as time to disconnect but it’s not for everyone.
Complete and utter peacefulness! This is a unique stay in the middle of nowhere but it’s truly wonderful! The cabins are cozy and have everything you could need - it really feels like luxury after a day hiking! Gary is great and had lots of helpful recommendations for us including local hikes which were really special - arguably more beautiful at points than some of the more famous areas in Jasper! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

GermanyWe had in perfect stay in very quiet nature in a very spacious and perfectly equipped cabin. We were a bit concerned about cooking for the family, but it was no problem at all. We did a couple of hiking trips which were suggested and are well documented by the hosts. The creek next to the cabins is beautiful and our kids had a great time there. The outlook on the wetlands west of Rock Lake was the most stunning view of our whole West Canada trip. Finally we got the nature experience we wanted after the overcrowded and busy hot spots of especially Banff Nationalpark. It was literally the extra mile we needed to go to reach the cabins, but it was worth it! Very nice and helpful hosts!

CanadaEverything is perfect!
Everything was above and beyond our expectations. From the impeccable cleanliness and quality of the cabin we stayed in (and all of the furniture and furnishings to boot), to the delicious meals we enjoyed courtesy of the griddle (seriously throw your bbq away and get one), and the stunning views of the mountainside, stars and planets at night around the beautiful bonfire area. The hosts, The Walkers, are so fabulous, generous and thoughtful to say the least. There is really not one comfort item or furniture choice they have not thought of to include in and around the escape property to really add that extra touch of modern comfort you would not expect from such an off grid experience. It was indescribably peaceful and awe inspiring to have all of the wonder and beauty of the Canadian Rockies in front of our eyes and at our fingertips without light or noise pollution, and to have the added amenities you would experience in a luxury hotel suite on top of getting back to nature and disconnecting…. priceless!!!
