Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaSoundproofing wasn’t the best. We were awakened both nights by a screaming child. The plumbing is also loud. Housekeeping was a bit slap dash. We had no face cloths and Nespresso pods weren’t replaced.
The location is top notch! We appreciated the underground parking even though we had to pay for it. We were in a first floor room overlooking a pond. The room was basic double queen. It had fridge, Nespresso, kettle, cups and glasses. We appreciated the sofa and table and chairs since there were 3 of us. The hot breakfast was excellent with lots of choices.

CanadaFabulous little hotel with a cute, historic vibe! The rooms are very comfortable, with very comfy beds. The breakfast is only okay, but the location is perfect. This was our second stay here, and this time the staff were particularly rude and unfriendly, and checking in was a bit of a hot mess. There was a queue of about 25 people waiting to check in when we arrived, and it was very disorganized. All that being said, I'll still stay here again, I'm sure.

CanadaThere was a male staff member at the desk who was quite rude to one of our party when asked for herbal tea options. We really liked the staff in the breakfast area and the housekeeping staff was amazing, but the front desk staff seemed overworked and stressed. I think the check in was absolutely atrocious, one of the worst I've ever seen. The whole lobby was overcrowded with a huge line going down the hall, of people trying to check in because they refused to let anyone check in until 4. I understand not having a room ready at that time, but usually you can check in ahead and leave your bags so everyone is not piled up until 4pm. I noticed a lot of paper documents, I really believe it's imperative in 2025 to supply your staff with a digital check in system, it is what guests expect in 2025 and it's necessary with the high level of traffic. We were in line for almost an hour to check in and still there were many behind us.
The beds are incredibly comfortable and the complimentary breakfast is very nice. The rooms came with complimentary espresso pods and tea which was a nice touch, and everything was so clean and comfy.

United StatesRoom was generally quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately the cheerleading competition visitors in the room above continued their practice in their room at all hours and the constant thumps and crashes on our ceiling prevented peaceful rest. Front desk called them but it didn't make much difference. Kids will be kids.. hope they won the competition!
This stay was for 3 adults (parents & daughter) in March 2025. First time in Victoria. Glad we chose the Huntingdon. Pleasant old-world ambiance particularly in the public lounge/eating areas. Great location for walking the Inner Harbour and shops. Lots of places to eat nearby. Staff always friendly and helpful. Beautiful breakfast eating area, excellent quality & variety food. Comfortable and clean room (#208, Standard Room, 2 Queen Beds (Newcastle). Surprise bonus: Afternoon Tea at adjacent Pendray Inn exceeded expectations; beautiful quiet, intimate dining area with lots of light, interesting soothing music, excellent and friendly service, and of course, great food. Almost therapeutic! Plus a discount when staying at the Huntingdon. A real Victoria gem.
