This was by far and away one of the best and most social hostels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in across 50+ countries. Not only did the superb staff exceed my expectations for a Canadian Hostel, they met and exceeded them for anywhere.

There was an issue with my wrist band key connecting at check in, it quickly sorted though And it was a bit difficult to find at first as there is only a small sign

-Great decor/setup, clean, and spacious -Friendly staff -Great activities nightly/ things to do during the day -Good location, central and around both the train, a mall, grocery store, music store, and several bars/things to do I highly recommend this is you're going to see a show/concert in the area as it's easy to get to via public transport or walking (and stumble to-able at the end of the night. Or midday, I wont judge.)

no storage in rooms, loud doors, no hair straighteners available as advertised on website, shower cubicles not big enough to dry yourself, let alone get changed in. I’ve stayed in nicer hostels for $10 per night

my tires were slashed outside the location. There was broken glass all over the street. The place smelled like raw sewage. Half the equipment in the kitchen was broken. The coffee grinder and coffee pot were broken.

Showers were tiny. The room was extremely hot and had a weird smell coming from the AC system. The reception desk was not available in the morning and they were not the nicest.

Bed was confortable, free breakfast available, kitchen and communal areas were big and nice.

1- Breakfast ran out and wasn't refilled. I came around 9:30AM and there were no juice or fruit. The breakfast options in general were very limited. 2- The beds are very noisy. Even a slight movement shakes the whole trunk. Couldn't sleep properly. Having a private room was of no use. 3- You have to carry your luggage via the stairs and that's not easy. They don't have the lifts. This is not a usual European style hostel you would expect. The only good thing was the location. I would prefer an Airbnb for people tight on budget.
